Is/are any WASH/ID/OR MJF girls going to attend the Sewing Expo in Puyallup Wash next Feb 28th-March 2nd?

Have any of you been to any of the past "Sew Expo" ?

I would like to attend, but don't want to go by myself, so if there are any gals in the Spokane or surrounding areas that want to go, maybe we can meet up and go as a group.

I plan to stay overnight as I think it is about a 4-5 hour
drive and it lasts 3 days. I don't want to miss any of it.
Tons of wonderful classes & demos.

Anyways, here is the website to check it out.

It will be held @:
Puyallup WA.
West Washington Fairgrounds
110 9th Ave. SW
Puyallup, WA. 98371

Sherri, I am still planning on attending, just have not firmed up the travel plans yet.
We'll most certianly have to plan a meeting point for all us MJF gals who attend.

Thanx for the great idea.
check out my blog so you can see the "snow"(wink wink) that we got here,,,especially since I know Idaho gets such little snow (giggle giggle)

Hey Grace, why don't you start a gathering group under gathering in all forums that way you can see how many will come, or even make it annual event.

I've never been but am planning on going this year. I think my Fruity friend from Portland (Patricia) is going with me. Could all the Farmgirl's meet somewhere even if just for a short time?

Highly recommend this expo! I will be there (of course, I live in south Seattle, so it's a 45 minute drive for me). Maybe we could have a MaryJane farm meetup!

Best,

Robin

Yes, we go When its 6 hours to seattle from Spokane, takes me one hour and half to get to spokane and then we havefrom seattle to Puyallup. So I think, its probably 8 to 8.5 hour drive altogether. I don't mind, I love to drive to Portland to Fabric Depot there and drive from Portland to home. But I would love it to be in Spokane.

Gracie and all, I'm starting to work with wool and am about to make some prim dolls and such...we need our own expo for the inner NW area folks. Let me know. I'm behind it if we can even come up with a little one =)

I agree, with all the crafty/creative ladies on this side of the state, it would be nice to have a sewing expo here...that would probably be more practical for the OR & ID ladies to attend as well.
If I do go, (& I am hoping too) I will stay 2 or 3 days depending on the total cost of the trip.
I have 2 other 3-day trips planned for 2008. In April I will be in Walla Walla, WA. & June I'll be in McCall,ID for Sisters on the Fly gatherings. So I have to budget, budget, budget.... either that or buy the winning lottery ticket! lol!

Angie, I used to live out that way . A farmgirl sleep over would be so much fun! We'd never get to sleep though with all the tongue waggin'

If I am home from the National Fire Academy, you can stay at my house. It's only a 25 minute drive to get to the fairgrounds. I will check my schedule when I go back to work this week. It would be a few air mattresses on the floor, but hey, a farmgirl sleepover could be lots of fun!

Lord, keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth!

Those passes are wicked and I have been stuck on them several times in huge pile ups. I don't fancy going over them then and it would likely be closer to a 7 hour drive. BUT I would LOOOOVE to go otherwise, I just don't think I'll be able to, it is really close to our lambing and kidding schedule and practically live at the barn during that time. Why couldn't it be in Portland or Spokane darnit!. But I will see closer to the time if I can nip away for a couple of days

I go every year with a friend and we stay over night and drive home the next day or so. Last night we got caught behind the 90 car pile up and spent the night in Ellensburg.

It sounds great but driving over mountain passes in winter is not my favorite thing to do. Too many years of slipping and sliding on icy roads. I wonder if any of the fabric or quilt shops have a tour going over there? I know my friend who lives in a small town in Wisconsin has something similar. One of the quilt shops reserves a bus and then they pick up women at other little towns along the way.JoAnn
