How do you know what kind of shank machine you have? I have been looking at ebay auctions for old Kenmore accessories like hemmer foots, walking foots, rufflers, but I have a circa 1982 (aka a real metal machine made in Japan) Kenmore and I haven't a clue how to figure this out.

Anyone have any info or a way I can figure out for sure what I have? thx

Lori, thanks!

Yeah, I had no idea they make sewing machines out of plastic now, I guess even the expensive ones. Mine retailed for $499 back in '82 and I think they bought it for $400 for a graduation present. It's heavy, does fancy stitches through cams, and doesn't have all the new bells and whistles but I think it's a pretty cool machine.

My mom has an old Kenmore, not sure what year, but it's green. She may be interested in cleaning out. She only has like 7 or 8 machines:) I'll tell her to check out this and get in touch with you.
