Hi guys,
I know that at one of my upcoming shows (maybe two!) I will be able to display and sell my aprons.
I'm kind of at a loss on how to do that in a practical, and heck, even cute way. Inexpensively would be a plus as well.
When I did my outdoor shows I just hung them on a piece of twine run on the legs of my EZup tent, but at indoor shows I won't have that tent available.
I know this isn't really a sewing question, but figured I should ask the peeps in the know...the APRONMEISTERS!!!

I use a vintage skirt hanger. You know...the kind you normally use in a closet with row upon row of clips to hold skirts? The one I have is made of wire, extra long, has about eight tiers, and the clips are covered in bright red rubber (very retro). I fold aprons into quarters, put one on each clip and hang the whole thing by the clothes hanger at the top. Easy to see, and easy to tote around or move to a new spot in your booth. It's also easy for customers to use.
I use a ladder to display quilts, hooked rugs & other heavy textiles. Just fold them over the rungs. Easy & pleasing to the eye!
I really like Mary Jane's idea! Popping the waistband into a hole in the lattice would be super user friendly-and ADORABLE! Brenda's metal gate idea is fun too...but the gates are getting really hard to find in my area. I just love hearing everyone's ideas! Thanks!

Could you take two pieces of latice and hinge them at the top. Put some twine or chain from one corner to the other to keep it from opening out too far. Say 4 feet wide by 6 feet tall(might be the size sheets you can buy it) Then its self standing and double sided!!! |

I have used old metal wire gates for displaying my linens at my shows and sales. Also, I have some funky old doors that I removed the glass from (they had glass on the top half . . . probably old back doors). Once I removed the glass, I stapled chicken wire on them and the linens hook on with clothespins. I put shelf brackets on my doors so they stand and are two sided. But you could also just lean them, though they wouldn't be two sided. Think outside the box . . . old trellis's, pieces of picket fencing, shutters, etc. I love unique displays and repurposing old junk to do it.

Ok MaryJane that stumped me on what that stuff is called but now I remember. Lattice LOL
The other thing I was thinking of was coat racks, you know the tree stand type.
You will definately have to post photos of your display in the end so we know what you did. |

i was thinking of using the wood panels,like MaryJane mentioned, might make a good divider from the next door "shop"too, you could string a long some rope, like a clothes line, and use some clothes pins to hold up. maybe even decorated pins to sell, too. .........the ones the gals did on the swap were great ideas.

You know those wood panels you can buy to finish off around the bottoms of porchs that are white slats of flat wood nailed together in a cross-wise pattern???? If you put one of those sections on a wall (spaced about two inches out from the wall), you can tuck aprons into the many triangular holes and display a whole bunch of aprons that way. The waists won't show but the pretty bottoms and pockets and fabrics look gorgeous and you're not fiddling with clothes hangers. Women wanting to "try on" aprons in a market-type situation can pull them out easily and they're a snap to push back into their spots.

I bought several of those unfinished wood plaques over @ Michaels Craft store, painted them & decoupaged them. Added a hook on top for hanging on the wall and then I nailed 2 nails into each plaque to hang the aprons from.
Fun easy project. Infact,,,,duh! why didn't I think of this before,,,,a cute handmade or vintage apron & a little plaque to hang it from would make a wonderful gift! "Grace, make mental note-good gift idea"

you can also create cute little hanging plaques that can be sold as well..take a large wooden plaque and paint in the color of your choice and attach vintage spoons to the plaque by drilling holes in the handles and hammering it to the plaque with small nails and bending the spoon up to form a hook.
Then hang your items from that.(I saw these in a magazine recently..and need to make some of them for myself..they were so cute!)
