I picked up my mail on the way down to treatment yesterday. There was a box from cinnamongirl/Carrie in the mail. I waited until I got to my sister's home after the run through to open it.
Boy, was I surprised and moved to tears to unwrap a glorious, sweet and generous sized lap quilt. There are so many blocks from ladies here on this site, and Carrie filled in with blank squares.There is so much of my favorite purple color and so many lovely floral prints. There is even a sweet purple embroidered angel (thanks, sunshine!)
Today I read through most of the names and will send you each emails in the near future to thank you all properly. Please know that I am so touched.
I used it for the first time last night. I was snuggled under it asleep in the recliner. It was perfect,warm and cozy and soft. I used it gratefully at the chemo room where it was cooler than I expeceted. It felt so good, and I felt so SAFE and loved!!!
I promise to photograph the quilt when I go home this weekend. I want you all to see it.
Carrie, thank you so much. I am assuming you coordinated this project for me. I know you executed putting it all together. It is just wonderful, soft and lovely, well made, pretty. I can't thank you enough for providing me such a tangible expression of your love and caring for me and extending the good wishes out to the whole group here. It is great, and God's PERFECT timing!!

Here is a picture of the lovely quilt made by Carrie/cinnaomgirl from blocks sent in by all you wonderful ladies. personally, I like it best over me, but I thought the clothes line a great way to see it all.

I just want to again thank you all so very much. Carrie, You did a terrific job putting it all together. I am just so happy to hug it, drag it over me, carry it with me i nthe car.
I can't tell you in words just how deeply this quilt affects me. When I am anxious, I cover myself in it. When I wake at night nervous, I pull it over me, say my affirmations and fall back asleep reassured by all the prayers and love. I am telling you that it makes me feel SAFE. You ladies have truly touched me and I want you to know that it is WORKING!! I just believe I will be well and know it will happen just because there are so many who care for me. THANK YOU.
I head home later after treatment today and will photo the quilt, too to post on this link.

Wow, what a gorgeous quilt! I am moved by the love that went into that and the connections between the ladies on this site. I wish I had known about this project, I would have loved to join in. Clare, I only joined in, here on MJF, about 2 months ago and I just recently became aware of what has been going on in your life. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. The women on this forum are so wonderful and I am glad that you are with us here, receiving support at the time when you need it most. I will be sending you warm thoughts and many prayers!
