I found a website that makes & sells 100% bamboo fabric, and they have just come out w/a Bamboo Satin fabric....how kool!
Also they have just incooperated a line of yarn on a trial basis to see if there is a demand for it.
They also sell a cotton bamboo fabric for diapers.
The yarn is around $8 pr/100gr but is on sale for 15% off until Nov.30th.
So sneak over & take a peak.

Well, I am off to the Ben Franklin store & Garden Gate Quilt shop.
Shhhh! don't tell my DH. He'll give me that goofy "try not to buy out the store" look.

Nin, Here is a limk to MJ's crochet instructions. They print out so nicely and are perfectly sized to slip in a project bag when you go out. I just love the illustrations.

Funny you should mention crochet actually- my mum has been trying to teach me since when she taught me to knit (I was knitting at 3 yrs old!) but she's a left hander and my brain could never reverse what she was doing, and she couldn't do it right handed either, so I was never able to learn. I bought a book last night though.

But back to the bamboo yarn, a friend is just about to have a baby, so I thought I might knit a bolero. If it doesn't work out I can always try something else and put the bolero on one of my dolls (it's getting cold here now!)

Not sure if the sample is enough for a sew job, but I'd love to order some and make some really soft pillowcases. They would be perfect, especially the jersy tee fabric.

I love my name and had never had to share it growing up. I loved being the only Grace. The other day I was in a store and this lady kept yelling "Grace stop that" I turned around and gave her this crusty look and out from under the clothes came this four year old girl. I smiled at the little girl and told her Mother that "Grace's never like to be yelled at".

You know what I like about all those sayings - the person who says it to me thinks that the are so clever - like they just thought of it. I also got that when my first baby would be with me at the grocery store and set the baby food on the counter. They would say "Is that the Gerber Baby"? My response was "Do you think if this was the Gerber Baby we would be purchasing our own food? "I think we would get it for free" They would give me that confused dog look and then admit what a dumb question that was.

OH WELL enough from Amazing Grace in Colorado

Hey Colorado Grace, it's Washington Grace,
Don't cha' love all the silly little "graceisms" that we have endured over the years?
"Say good night Gracie"
Way ta go Grace
Aint it amazin' Grace
and my fav... Grace under fire....
etc, etc, etc....
oh well, what was once an old fashioned name is now becoming popular again.
Mine was handed down, I was named after my aunt & she was named after her aunt and I gave my daughter my name as her middle name.
Saved by Grace,
Good to hear about you experience w/the bamboo fabric. Now I am thinking about buing some as well as a skein of bamboo yarn just to experiment w/it.

Hi Grace it is Grace
I love spinning with Bamboo and many of my customers just can not get enough of it. I love also sewing with bamboo but it does get alittle bit pricey because I have to order it in - no one around here carries it - so when i do order I combine orders with some of my customers. It is a great product and I hope more will try it.

My local quilt store has that fabric- it feels like very high quality cotton. I was surprised.

Never heard of it till last week.
