I know I get passionate about my help projects, but here is something I thought of in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep. I've read on several of the support the troops sites that the guys and gals often don't have any kind of helmet padding and use panty liners when they can get them...
I was going through fabric bits today and noticed several thick fleece remnants and thought that they would be great helmet liner bands...they wash easy, dry easy and don't unravel.

I'm going to cut fleece strips and either leave them single layered or double them and then sew on velcro straps so they can be sized to fit. Even with me without a machine and sewing by hand, I should be able to pop out a few a day. If anyone else would like to do something like this, maybe we can make them all a bit more comfortable until we can end this war and get them home.

I've also seen a lot of requests for small toys, stuffies being the best, that the troops can hand out to the children over there. Anything to help.

Anyway, just my idea for the day.If anyone is interested, I'm sure my idea could use a lot of refining =)

Annika-

I have a whole box of stuffed animals that I was going to take to Goodwill- but maybe we could put together a box for overseas?
