Posted - Sep 23 2007 : 11:23:06 AM I just posted pictures on my site of a quilt that I'm adding embroidered squares to, so it will either come out cute or I will have made a mess of a really cute quilt. If I don't talk about it in the future, don't ask. NANCY JO

Posted - Sep 23 2007 : 1:56:35 PM The first large one I did, I think I posted it a while back on my blog, was quilted by hand. I gave it to my husband for our 25th anniversary. I started it in 1992. I never had much time to work on it so it was sort of done when ever I could a large enough hunk of time to put it together. I finished it this year. The hand quilting took me a long time. I did make another one for friends who were moving away and that one was tied off. They didn't give us much notice when they decided to go so I didn't have much choice.

Posted - Sep 23 2007 : 1:52:20 PM This quilt is already made and tied off, I just thought it would be fun to applique little embroidered squares on top. Like I said I saw one on a site called pattern bee, and it was so cute I thought I would try it. Pattern bee is also where I order most of my embroidery patterns. Such a nice girl to deal with and I like her blog. Lots of ideas, like I really need more things to do, I already have too many bee's in my bonnet. NANCY JO

Posted - Sep 23 2007 : 1:33:50 PM That's how I did mine too Denise~tied it off. I've never done a technically "QUILTED" quilt.

Posted - Sep 23 2007 : 1:14:37 PM I think your quilt will look wonderful with the embroidered squares. the first one I ever did was a baby quilt too. It was when those aunt martha paints were popular, so I traced the little animals on to the squares colored them in lightly and the sewed the quilt. Because I started it late I ended up tying it off instead of quilting it.

Posted - Sep 23 2007 : 11:36:50 AM LOL!! Oh, Nancy, it's going to be so cute. The first quilt I ever made (and probably the best one) was a baby quilt for my son before he was born. I embroidered about 20 muslin blocks with kitties etc. Doing a "smaller" scale project like that made it seem less daunting, because the durn thing took the whole 9 months to embroider!
