I made these to give Vince's (my husband) cousin for their wedding this Saturday. I should of taken a picture of them in the box before I tied it up. But, it took me a while to get the ribbon nice and even, so I'm not going to undue it to just take a pic! lol Although they were pretty in there! I also gave some bath fizzy things in there. I wrapped them in a photo holding box. I figured it was a two fold gift that way. Not another box to throw away or gift wrap to throw away, and they can reuse the box for photos. Her favorite color is lavandar if you can't tell. lol

Personally most weddings I would give at least three sets, but this cousin nor her parents (and she's not that young so old enough to give us a gift if she had wanted) a wedding gift 7 years ago when we married. We have a 1 year old daughter and all she gave us was one dollar tree (1.00 every thing in the store) bib. So......even though I'm not a tit for tat person. I feel a little odd spending a LOT of time or money on gifts for some one who doesn't want to give at all. Plus we already had to give other gifts at all the engagement parties and showers. And my father in law is always called upon to "fix" things at her home. But when ever there is something her or her parents can do for my father in law, they charge him, meanwhile all his help to them is supposed to be and is free. So.....being one of those relatives-I call them takers, and I think healthy relationships have both taking AND giving. So I didn't go out of my way. lol

But, still I liked the cases. And thought I would share.

Yeah Gabrielle, I mainly did it for my own satisfaction. And you are right every family has one! lol :)

Yup, exactly what I mean Jonni. I didn't register at all when I got married as I had no idea how to do it! lol haha But, I doubt it would have done much good, I registered for the baby, and only got 2 things off it! lol haha And I hinted strongly to every one I wanted the cloth diapers and where they were on the registery as they were 10 dollars each and even if each family member would give me one that's what I needed most. I didn't even get one! lol haha

Heather, EXACTLY. I registered for very little, so I was happy when folks used their creativity. All the towels I registered for are now dog towels, becuase they're worn out, and the stemware has all been chipped, or broken. But, those little towels are still around and they really brighten my day!

Heater, I feel your pain. It seems as though every family has a taker.

However, just remember the fun you had creating such a lovely gift. I know I take comfort in that, when I am making a gift. But! I am selective to whom I give a hand made gift.

Keep creating.

Thanks Gals.

I know Jonni, my favorite wedding gifts I recieved were the embroidered pillow cases I was given. To tell you the truth I don't really have much other gifts left. The other stuff either broke or wore out-microwave-broke, laundry basket-wore out, etc. lol haha

Great gift! Some of my favorite shower gifts were from an elderly friend of my grandmothers. She embroidered little linen towels with dogs waiting on a corner that said, "Waitin' on you!" and another with little blond mermaids and bubbles. So thoughtful, and everytime I see them I think of her. I hope these hold the same memories for your cousin!

Thanks gals.

I just came up with the photo box idea a few days ago. I think from now on if I can give a gift in a photo box I will. I hate waste (people now a days usually just throw the wrapping away, when I was little we were supposed to try to take it apart nicely and save the wrapping to reuse! lol). So I think this is more enviromentally friendly, and I don't know about every one else, but I have so many photos, and never enough time to "scrap book" so I box really well! lol I have boxes for every occassion, I buy the ones that look like the event-wedding looking ones, vacation looking ones, lol etc. Then I put all the photos that go with that box in there. And I can't seem to get enough. I also like that the boxes are so pretty now, I leave them out as decor, and at the same time if some one wants to look through the pics they can! lol I wish I was better at getting them in books though. lol But, I've resigned that I just am not the type to get them all in books, and am very good at boxing! lol haha
