I am trying to find new feed sacks or feed sack fabric? to make dish towels to embroider. I'd like to find them in a natural solid color. I thought I saw some in Wal-Mart once. Can't remember. Can't seem to locate any. Does anyone know where I can buy them or order them. Thanks for any help with this. Tracy

I received my flour sack towels and am not sure I will keep them. Plan to wash and dry one this evening to see if threads(weave) will pull closer together and look heavier. I compared them to some vintage ones I have and they are not the same quality. Will let you know tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for your help on this! Flour sacks....not feed sacks! What was I thinking? I immediately contacted the online store Georgann mentioned and ordered them in addition to their 400 thread count pillowcases for $5.00 a pair! I order 4 pr. to embroider. I'll let you know what it all looks like when I receive it. Denise, I had already placed my order before I read the rest of the posts. What size and color are your towels. The ones I ordered only came in white. Thanks, Tracy

I bought a pack of WM ones...they are pretty flimsy...
IF you decide to buy them there, I found them in the kitchen towel area.

There's a K-Mart 45 mins away...I will have to check out theirs the next time I drive down there.

Do NOT, I repeat do NOT buy them from walmart, they are horrible, like gauze, and are really trying my nerves trying to embroidery them. Just yuck!

I haven't tried them yet, but I would bet that Aunt Martha's would be better quality. They sell them at their site colonialpatterns.com and also at Hobby Lobby, and Hancock's.

Our Walmart has them. They call them Flour Sack Towels. They are like 5 for $5.00. I'll look next time I go there.

Here is an online source. Don't know anything about this company.
