Posted - Jul 24 2007 : 10:48:36 AM Thanks for that info! And when you choose a bias tape maker is the measurement for the single fold? Like if you buy a 1" bias tape maker does the tape come out at 1" or is it 1" if you fold it over? Does that make sense...lol

Posted - Jul 24 2007 : 08:05:21 AM Well, E, I can't do everything now can I .... ;-)
When I make a 1/2 inch bias tape I make the strips about 2" wide. But that's double fold tape. Honestly, if I can make it anyone can. I consider myself a "Rachael Ray" kind of sewer, and I'm not complimenting myself there...a little of this, a little of that, make it up as you go along chickie, which sometimes works and sometimes creates a train wreck. ;-)

Posted - Jul 24 2007 : 06:42:05 AM Those of you who make bias tape, I have a question. How wide does the fabric have to be cut for each size of tape? I found someone that's got some precut left over from their grandma's stash and so I'm not sure what size bias tape maker I'd need for it. Thank you!

Posted - Jul 23 2007 : 8:23:14 PM I just purchased pre-folded fusible bias tape as I am putting together an applique quilt block for a friend's wedding this fall. having fusible tape will allow me to place the tape in the intricate pattern and not have it slip or be stuck myself by pins when I sew it. I haven't sewn with it yet, but can't wait to do so.
I purchased solid tape from: http://www.ericas.com/quilting/tools/bias_quick.htm
But just now I found marbled at: http://www.clotilde.com/detail.html?source=froogle&prod_id=2226 |
