Here is a really easy hat pattern from the top of my head! WANNA TRY? It takes like 5 min lolol
First a few hints!! A baby's head can come in many sizes a preemies head can be as small as a lemon/lime or the size of a grapefruit! So if you have nothing to size your hat, use fruit lolol My son Gabe was premature well his foot was 1 inch long, so making booties if you ever feel "no this would be to small" you would be suprised just how small a premature babies foot is.

So onto the pattern!!
CO 36 Sts

Single Rib (K1, P1 across)
Repeat this for 1 inch
Then Stockenette st. (Knit 1 row, purl 1 row)
for 2 1/2 inches
(dec row)Then knit 2 tog across(on knit side)
then,Purl across
Repeat the Knit dec row
then cut yarn leaving it long, put it on a yarn needle. Weave it through rem sts on needle. Pull sts off needle and pull up tight.
Sew up side! You can add a pom, pom if you wish. That is optional.
How cute and small is that.
To make your hat different larger you can add 4 more sts on CO (inc by 4's)remembering to inc rows on your stockenette area so your hat does not end up larger around but not taller lololol

Anyway we also have a free newsletter you can see on our website. Just go there and click on the newsletter link! We always have free patterns in them!!!
For any of your crafters who would like to have an add in our newsletter (free) let me know!
