It is not an iridescent fabric, though it does look like it..just a cotton print I had in my trunk...it was super esay..though next time I'll make the straps shorter..also when she is older and the dress doesnt fit, all I need to do to make it a skirt is take the straps off(single decorative stitch holding them on) and insert a little zipper...hehe...
so for the top all I did was mesaure around her chest, divide the measurement, add seam allowance, divide the back add seam allowance and room to overlap for buttons, then straps were just 10 inches(to long for her)..the skirt was cut along the fabric fold and hemmed, gathered and attached to the top...also the top three pieces were doubled about 5 inches wide, so that there was no seam on top...I'll try for some more pictures later to show how I did it, if anyone wants to know...though its really simple, and i'm sure you could figure it out your self....
cheers,

OK...so last night..after seeing the picture of the dress you want to replicate...I sat down...needed a prsent for lil sisters birthday, and made her a little dress, I'm waiting for the picture to upload right now, it'll be a while before its done, as someone (looks at mom) hasnt cleared the camera off in a while...so there are several hundred pictures..slowly uploading to my computer..when i only need about 20-30 of them...haha
will upload and post as soon as it is finished,

thats is cute!....
here is one that has a similar dress, but it is shorter, but since it just looks like straight pieces, you should be able to lengthn fairly easily...http://www.simplicity.com/dv1_v4.cfm?design=3738
this may indeed be the very dress Clare is talking about...
cheers,

That is a great dress. Yes, there was a similar pattern for sale in Joanns. I think it was Simplicity. It had that neckline or a halter style and a long skirt. It might be McCalls, too. Check the books under Dresses.
