mini apron tonight! I am going to be testing a pattern for a large "me" sized apron that I want to make! Wish me luck! I am a little nervous! I want to start with the tatting that I want to put on the outside because I _know_ I can do that! How silly is that of me? To be intimidated by a sewing project! LOL

I haven't had time to go get the pattern enlarged. I am not skilled enough yet to eyeball it or wing it. It will probably have to wait till Monday. I will make sure to take lots of photos!

Yeah, your right, I can't see the pockets Do you have your size cut out?

I went through my file cabinet yesterday because I knew I had some older apron patterns. I found a Marion Martin one with the old fashioned (halter style, but it looks different than the new patterns) because it goes over the shoulder and snaps in the back and then there are straps that go down and connect to the waist. I'll have to scan it and post it for you to see.

Thanks Stephanie!

It is hard to see the pockets because I didn't do the bias tape. The full sized one will have all the extras though. :)

I made the full sized apron that is in the MaryJanes's Ideabook. It actually turned out pretty decently and the instructions were very easy to follow. I didn't turn any of the hems because I was trying to do it really quickly between Nora being fussy last night. I ripped it a little trying to put it on and off various stuffed animals before I remembered that I had this doll in the closet. So it got a little out of whack, but that's okay. I would have to tailor the apron to fit this doll- but it gives you the general idea. I am going to get the pattern enlarged then laminated and I am going to make one first with an old sheet and then once I tweak it to fit my body, I will cut into my good fabric. :)

I just finished sewing my first mini apron!

I didn't turn under any of the hems and the pockets are just tacked on because I wanted to just do a prototype of a bigger apron. Overall I think it turned out great and I think MaryJane's instructions are great! Before I cut my nice material I am going to make an apron out of one of my sheets and do all the hem turning and everything to practice.

Ronna-
If you read this- I used the rotary cutter and it was amazing! thank you so very much!

We all get intimidated sometimes. I still do when I am making something for someone else! You will do a great job, so don't worry! Make sure you post pictures!!
