Hi ladies :-) Thanks Stephanie for "adding on" to this topic that was started awhile ago. I am really excited about getting this new swap on the way, it will be a "unique" swap and will be a lot of fun. Hope that you all get inspired from the new pinkeeps that are added here!

I hope that we can do another "round" after this one is done and have even more people involved

I watched Carol Duvall on HGTV this AM and she had a lady on there making the cutest pinkeepers. They all looked like cupcakes and cookies. One was so easy -- she used the sleeve off a baby romper and put the ribbed edge over a piece of cardboard tubing. The ribbed edge looked like the cupcake paper then she stuff the portion of sleeve and gathered at the top. It was so cute and so easy.

Also heard a great tip on Martha Pullen on Saturday. The guest was making a pin cushion and said she fills hers with steel wool. It keeps the pin sharp and also buffs off any sharp edges. Although I'd think you'd have to wear gloves when stuffing because steel wool can be kind of hard on the hands.

Here's a free pinkeeper pattern from Marcus Brothers fabric. It's for a "Gypsey Pincushion"...Awesome!! It's made from wool and velvet.

Michelle,

We are thinking about the Murfreesboro area or the Smokey Mountains..one extreme to the other..LOL We figure we may as well check out all angles before deciding. We just want to be close to lots of Artisans, Festivals, Specialty shopping, etc.

Queen of Dreamsz Pinkeeper

I used some vintage ticking fabric to make the little "strawberry" and filled it with sand for sharpening your needles, used my usual ribbons, trinkets, button, beads and embroidery..Oh, and see my Yo-Yo's at each end? That's some of my rayon batik fabric..totally fabulous to work with!

Hi girls. Just a note to let you know, if you want to submit your photos so that they can be posted in the pinkeeper gallery at http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/contest/index.html , you need to save your photo at a smaller size - about 4x6 is good for that purpose. Some of you have noted that you've had trouble submitting photos or that they "wouldn't go through" - that's probably because the photo you're trying to send is too large and the e-mail bounces it back. Also, it won't show up immediately - we receive the e-mail and then have to go through the posting process. If your e-mail doesn't bounce back, rest assured that it will be posted within a day or so. We'd like to keep an ongoing pinkeeper gallery at that site and would love to see all your lovely pinkeepers there! To submit yours, just send a 4x6 jpeg image to contest@maryjanesfarm.org .

Keep on stitchin'!!
Carol
