I have always wanted to make homemade soap but have never have out of fear I guess. The recent discussion on here about making soap has rekindled my interest. A few years ago I bought a book titled "Essentially Soap" by Dr. Robert S. McDaniel. Are any of you familiar with it and can his directions or recipes be trusted?

I belong to more than a few soap forums... http://www.soapdishforum.com/ is a really good one with alot of soap information, supplier reviews and co-ops. The other ones there is a lot less soap chat, because we all have busineses and have been making soap for so long we talk about everything else at this point... like sewing and our kids.

I started with Miller Soap's site too, and have found it quite informative. Although I've frequented a lot of soap-related sites and forums, I always seem to return to Miller Soap.

This site is better than any book you can buy.
