Posted - May 27 2007 : 4:49:31 PM to answer your questions on my blog about the apron I got from This Vintage Chica. Here you go No French seam it is just a straight stitch seam just sewn in other words. They laid it on its side and straight stitched again to hold it in place and to help with fraying. No lining I can see all the stitching on the back side

Posted - May 29 2007 : 4:22:48 PM Hey everyone. Sorry I was AWOL all last night and all today up until just now. Had a big storm yesterday evening that knocked out our server. My hubby just got it back up a few minutes ago.
I'll take measurements on the apron and post them along with easy-squeezy instructions as soon as I can. I have to drive to Dulles Airport to pick up my brother tomorrow afternoon, so I'll be busy most of tomorrow too. The girls and I are going to take aprons and have my brother take a photo of us at Dulles International in our aprons! LOL....that will be my contribution our apron photo blog for MaryJane to enjoy! LOL
Oh, AMANDA.......LOVED the apron photos!!! They are great and you are all so beautiful!!! G

Found the cutest blue jean cat vest while out thrifting last week....I couldn't leave the vest at the shop, so brought it home. I was going to cut it up for the cat appliques, but don't know if I have the heart. It is in your size too.
Oh, thanks! I loved the colors in this apron...reminds me of butternut squash. Mmmmmm....
I'm anxious to see what you are aproning next!!! Be sure to do before and afters!! G

Posted - May 27 2007 : 9:49:17 PM Sunshine, Here is my version of your vintage apron. I only used a single row of the rick rack and it is the authentic vintage cotton rick rack. I also used vintage/thrifted gold colored accent fabric. The main fabric is new. It is the from the Daisy Kingdom apron fabric line. I fell in love with this color combination and have been searching for the inspiration for this fabric. I only had enough of the Daisy Kingdom to do a half apron, but I am very partial to half aprons anyway. Here are some snapshots of the apron. I hand finished this one. I usually machine finish because it is difficult for me to hold a needle, but I like the vintage touch it gave this one. I really appreciate your help in this apron. Also, I think I've found a new love...reproducing vintage aprons. I could do it easily with just measurements and a look see at an apron. This is not a pattern, but I did write down the measurements of each piece of fabric and ripped all the fabric to stay on the straight of grain!
Oh, photos:
Tied in back
Now tied in front. (Love long ties on my aprons.
Close up of pocket.
I'll see if I can get the measurements written down tomorrow and instructions on how to put together this apron if you would like, but with your sewing experience, you probably don't need much help!!
I'm so glad you like your other aprons. Got them a little big for the girls, but they'll eventually grow into them. lol
I hope you like this one Sunshine. I would love to do this in some modern jazzy prints...hmmm....think I will!!
Hugs and thanks, Georgann
