Anyone ever try to use an Aunt Martha's iron on transfer on wood? Just wondering? Think it would work. I would like to use the animated kitchware one I have to make some wall plaques on scrap wood. I suppose I could use tracing paper instead but then the designs will be reversed and I will need to do wording freehand

It worked! Thanks for your support! When I finish my project I'll post it! A little bit 60's art decoy for me I generally go for a more casual country living, french peasant style of decorating ...but what the hay...free is for me... I had all these transfers and wood scraps...they charge 15-25 dollars for these type of decorations at stores...

I was real into Tole Painting at the time and dont have anything still around for pictures. I loved the variety of AM transfers as they were so different from the books for painting.

Hummm , You all have given me all kinds of new ideas to use my collecion of Aunt Marthra's transfers. they are so much fun.

if your wood isn't REAL smooooth ... you can always put some 'transfer' paper between the wood and transfer and trace over it and when you come to the 'letters' .. try to 'transfer' those to PAPER first .. reverse it .. then trace over the words.

I have used the transfers on wood and it worked fine, I just followed the directions for using them on fabric. Just make sure the wood is paper smooth and you should have no problems. I did it for painting.
