Posted - May 05 2007 : 05:48:43 AM I've always used 14 count Aida material for my counted X stitch but now I can't seem to see it so well (I'm at that age where I take off my glasses to 'see'). I had already started a pic of 4 horses and gave up. I bought 11 count and we'll see how that goes. I hope it looks as well, just bigger.
Anyway, this is sort of a vent!! I'm getting older, *sigh*

Posted - May 05 2007 : 10:58:43 AM I am with you. lol , I have a problem seeing in the disantce too. Go to www.joanns.com and to www.michales.com they have what you are looking for at least in their stores they do. I love the look of the smaller weave ;but it is so hard on our "mature eyes" Go there and see if you can find them. Good luck Pinkroses |

Posted - May 05 2007 : 08:46:58 AM Hey Winona, don't feel discouraged by "reading glasses required" vision....I suffer from the same problem. I use a magnifyer that sits on my not-so-ample bossom and has a cord that goes around my neck (necklace style) that keeps the magnifyer in place. It really does help. Did you know that you can also buy 8-count aida cloth? If you stitch on 8-count you will use all 6 strands of the floss. Remember, sewing keeps us in stitches! LOL!
