Posted - Jun 09 2012 : 11:32:31 AM I am just starting to learn about perennial vegetables and was wondering if anyone had any experience growing them in their gardens. Many people grow asparagus and artichokes, but I would like to go beyond that. I bought this book to start my learning process
but any shared experience would be great. I wrote a post about why you might want to have a perennial vegetable garden on my blog. If anyone is interested, it is listed below. Thanks in advance for your helpful info!!

Posted - Nov 03 2012 : 09:47:43 AM Most of my herbs are perennial but veggie wise we have rhubarb. We also have raspberries and strawberries. I have a potted blueberry bush because our winters aren't that nice to blueberries so it comes inside for awhile. We plant garlic every fall but I haven't left them in passed a year before.

Posted - Aug 07 2012 : 12:57:09 PM In my last place I always tried to go perenial if I could. Chives, sage, tarragon, mint, currants, elderberries, plums, apples, and I had a perpetual bed of garlic and onions. Oh, the lemon balm and dill always re-seeded itself. Can't wait to sell that place and be able to find my perfect homestead where I can do it again with some asparagus, artichokes, horseradish, and others yet to be discovered for me.

Posted - Jul 19 2012 : 7:12:48 PM We grow onion tops and parsley year around. We don't have many freezes during the winter. If the temperature gets to the 30s, we bring the parsley in the hot house. The onion tops have made it through all of our winters. Marly
