Posted - Dec 14 2021 : 09:59:08 AM Marlene, that was such a scary night. That weather guy I was listening to knew it was headed to that little town in Kentucky...but no one knew it would wipe the town away. We have had some pretty devastating tornados in Texas... but I do not recall one 200 miles long. Also when Hermaleigh was hit, about 50 years ago there was no debris. That was a cotton farming community...no tractors, no cotton trailers, no barns and no homes...absolutely nothing left. And the trees were twisted. When Jarrell was hit about 25 years ago all that was left was slab foundations. I've always wondered where those storms dumped all of the debris.
