You can often find in hardware stores and garden centers small decorative flags that hang on metal stakes to place in the ground or hang on an exterior wall.
Garden flags are typically approximately 12.5” wide x 18” long. They have a pocket on the top edge to slide on to your stake. They are made from any material that will withstand outdoor conditions. You can paint, applique, or whatever is your pleasure, to illustrate your message. I love Autumn and the Autumn colors, so let’s make that the theme; Halloween, Thanksgiving or just the delightful colors of the season.

Marilyn - I received your garden flag today. How creative of you to recycle an umbrella for the outdoor flag; and the autumn leaves are spectacular. It is sooo cute !! Thank you for being my partner once again. You are a delight ~~ Now all we need is a cool evening to sip some hot apple cider.

BECKY! Love the beautiful Autumn flag and cute cute little fun inserts!! I just decorated my front gate so this is a super edition!! Barely cooled off here but they ate saying a cold front is due in next weekend! (YES)
I feel awful because you and Ida just didnt get the best of me with my limitations right now. I look forward to having you both as swap partners in the future as I heal so I can create better!

Oh, Jill, Im happy you liked Mr. Scarecrow! That harvest tea is one of my favorite fall teas! I'm at trader Joe's every fall when it first comes out, seems to sell out quickly here in my neck of the woods. Enjoy all the little autumn moments the season brings!
And, thank you again for my garden flag, I have it on my patio and in view from my kitchen window and slider where I can see it many times a day! Love it!

April!! I absolutely love the garden flag you made! It lives near my front door and makes me smile each time I pass by. It's charming! You are so talented. I also love the wood block with it's beautiful message and lettering - that lives in my kitchen and will likely remain there well past autumn! As for the other little treats, I am having some Harvest tea right now as I type this, and Werthers makes me so nostalgic. You have curated yet another wonderful piece of Farmgirl mail.

Ida Jane, I received your cute October/ Halloween garden flag today! Thank you!
When I first opened the package I was greeted by the scent of autumn!!! I began to look,this opening and smelling of everything...then I picked up the gossamer bag and there it was...amazing how good those two tea bags smell! Thank you.
Hopefully I will get your flag in tomorrows mail. I meant to do it today but one hyperactive puppy, and a new perm appointment got in my way! Tomorrow is errand day...and I must go to the post office!

We're half way to the end of sign ups for this swap, and it slipped to the second page. I completed my garden flag last night. And if I must say so myself, "it turned out pretty cute".
