When my younger brother was in college, at TCU, on a football scholarship, his room mate, another football player...turned 21. He got a package from his mother, way out in El Paso. My brother laughed when he told the story... Because along with the birthday sentiments, we're his mom's apron strings. She was letting him know she had cut him loose (just like the apron strings from her tired old apron)...and now he was an adult!

Marlene, I forgot to let you know that I sent out your Apron. It was fun to construct and I hope you like it!! I am always finding ways to repurpose things and this is a perfect example of my Dr. Frankenstein ways! I put in some extras for good measure.

Awww,,, Judith and Marilyn..that apron is 'sew' cute... and who doesn't love a sweet pair of "pinchies' as my grands call them.. I have a pair of those faux pearl clip earrings in my collection. Mine are kind of a beige pink color...

Those earrings are from my mother's costume jewelry collection. I thought you would remember. They were sent to trigger memories..

I finally got to take apron and goodie pictures. Sorry -- the tea was already in my tea canister.
. Marilyn -- the earrings made me smile - my mother had a similar pair; I may have them around here somewhere. They were also clip style. Pierced ears weren't in fashion then. I love the little pocket on the mug rug -- just big enough for a piece of chocolate.
