If anyone is interested in creating and swapping an Envelope Junk Journal, please leave a message below on this thread.
I'm thinking of creating a junk journal incorporating envelopes, the sky and your imagination are the limit. You may use the envelopes as the cover of the journal and pages and/or pockets. Different sized envelopes may add even more character! Be sure to embellish the pages, add pretties, journaling cards, papers, etc. to journal on. Perhaps this may even inspire you to store your love letters in, or perhaps, the love letters your grandfather sent to your grandmother many years ago. Something that could be used as a personal memory journal or a keepsake. This will not be your typical lined paper journal to write it, so please think outside of the box!
Sign ups will be through February 28th, I will draw random names and post that evening.
Mail out will be by March 16th.
I have found my inspiration and am excited to start creating!
Love and Nostalgia to all!

Posted - Mar 24 2018 : 12:29:20 PM Ladies, around Christmas I tea and coffee dyed a lot of papers...thinking I might have time to make several junk journals. I then sewed lace, trims, etc to many pages. Then I added pockets to some pages and made a few tags to slip into some of those pockets. Then in January I accepted several sub dates...and next thing I knew I was asked to be the teacher of the fifth grade Reading, Science and Social Studies as well as the Sixth grade Science and Social Studies....until the end of the school year. Wow! It is fun! But it is lots of planning, lots of grading...using a computer, etc. The fifth graders read a story about going out west in a covered wagon in the 1800s...and how the people kept a simple journal about their adventures. My mind said, why not throw the idea out to the boys and girls that they could learn to make a junk journal. They jumped at the opportunity and our classroom became a mess of papers, glues, photos, string, yarn needles, impatient kids and a very tired teacher...but on Thursday every journal was finished. They were excited to go home and show their parents...all 23 of them. One boy even returned with his filled with photos that he and his mom had put into his journal. Each journal had two signatures and I have very little paper left over. I think the project was a success!!!

Posted - Mar 08 2018 : 09:55:42 AM Hi Mary, I've attached a few pictures of the envelope journal I sent Beth, however, these pictures were before it was finished, the photos are missing the wax seals, which were personally one of my favorite embellishments on the envelopes, but I failed to get pictures of them completed and before I sent it off... hopefully these will give you an idea of what I created, it was a little outside the box from a traditional journal. Probably not for all, but I really liked it and ended up making myself one similar as well. LOL! Each envelope had smaller envelopes, coffee stained papers and pretties inside to journal on.
