Posted - Aug 31 2017 : 08:35:30 AM Hi ladies!!
It's that time! I'm so stoked! I LOVE these things! Sara truly enjoyed playing a part in this swap by pulling names out of a bowl and matching them! So here's the list: Linda & Marilyn Debbie & Connie Marilou and Dianna Darlene & Julie Sherry & Patsy Kelly & Mary
Please contact your partner for exchanging addresses and if I've forgotten anyone PLEASE let me know? Post when you receive these please! THANK YOU so much for participating! Our next ATC swap is for October and the theme is 'cute' Halloween. Nothing with gore or scary, k? ;) Happy swapping all!!!
Our Eclipse ATC swap was so unique & fun! we swapped such BEAUTIFUL cards! After discussing this with several swappies it is going to be an ongoing swap with themes for each month. Next month will be a Halloween theme! ( thanks Marilou for the suggestions) These miniature creations of art have been truly inspirational!
Our theme for this month is Fall/Autumn! The color change is so beautiful this time of year as is the weather changes! So, any type of medium you want to use or even mix them! As long as the card is standard size (forgive my last set not made to size) of 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 heavy cardstock or prepared cardboard from cereal boxes and such. You may sew, paint, mix media, fiber, etc. for your trade. Make sure you sign the backs and title it and date it! Let's have FUN with Fall!
Sign ups begin now through Sept. 20th and mail out is Oct. 1st. As always we will assign ONE partner per ONE card but if you wish to make more it's up to you. :) If you are new to this swap, please send info for mailing.
Also if you are new to ATC's here is a brief description: Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) is a conceptual art project initiated by the Swiss artist M. Vänçi Stirnemann in 1997. He called it a Collaborative Cultural Performance. Artist Trading Cards are 2 1#8260;2 by 3 1#8260;2 inches (64 mm × 89 mm) in size, the same format as modern trading cards (hockey cards or baseball cards). They are self-made unique works or small series, signed and dated on the reverse by the artist/producer, exchanged and collected by the people who participate in the collaborative performance.[1]
You can find a pattern online via google search and fit TEN ATC's on one piece of card stock. Or here is you can print it out.
Let your imaginations and artistic juices flow!

Posted - Oct 12 2017 : 07:35:52 AM Marilou, your leaf ATC is awesome. I remember so well kneading by my mother's knees as I watched how she drew whatever I asked her to draw for me. She was my teachrr...in drawing, sewing, cooking, just everything. I was curious and hungry to learn. As I got to be about ten, I was amazed at her sewing skills, and how she would go to the grocer and ask for their apple boxes, then with her coping saw, transform them into useful what not shelves or doll suit cases, etc. TexasGran #6389 Let God's light shine through you every day.

Posted - Oct 12 2017 : 07:03:24 AM I'm glad you like it! I had so much fun creating my ATC. My oldest was mesmerized when I cut part of Soda Can and it all came up together to form a leaf! :) I am on a Squirrel spree! I think I might be starting a collection! :) Have a great month and it was a fun Swap! |

Posted - Oct 04 2017 : 1:17:17 PM Debbie, I also meant to tell you the story of the girl on the stamp in the right hand corner. It was the 1930's and she had polio and couldn't walk, but drug herself to the garden every day, to pull weeds and pick the veggies!! True Farmgirl!! My Dr. told me the story of the artist when I went for my MS checkup. and then I saw these stamps and I just had to have them!

Posted - Oct 04 2017 : 12:06:43 PM Thank you so much for my Fall ATC that arrived in today’s mail. No postmark, nothing, it is like you hand carried it to my mailbox, so strange! How unique your ATC, you made it into a pocket and added two little cute mason jar pull outs with scarecrows on the them. I love it! Very fall! Also two spiced apple tea bags, can not wait to try one. Thank you so much, it was fun having you as a partner.

Posted - Oct 02 2017 : 08:39:54 AM Girls, it is so sad that you all live so far away! In Quebec, we have a lot of leafy trees (arbres feuillus)so every region have its own colors sight-seeing festival! My father lives up north near a forest and each year we pressed leaves between book pages. When I was younger, it was so fun to re-discover them when Autumn came back around!
Mary, your mom is truly fantastic. What a great way to bring Autumn to you!
And, Dianna, seems mine didn't reach you before October... Let's hope before Halloween... :) |

Posted - Oct 01 2017 : 07:01:40 AM That's so cool Linda! Sweet!!! Mary...your mom was awesome! I knew how you felt. Living here hasn't been that bad but I so muss seasons and colors! That's why I take Sara every year to north Georgia...so she and I both cam experience some Autumn time together. She loves it.

Posted - Oct 01 2017 : 06:01:56 AM My, the Fall ATCs are beyond awesome ! So wonderful Farm Sisters.... Autumn in the North is my favorite seasion. In Texas.... short, sweet, and mostly brown.
When I was in Basic Training (WACS) in Alabama, I sent Mom a letter bemoaning that it was Autumn and NO colorful leaves. One day a Manila envelope arrived filled with pressed colorful leaves from big Ohio Maple trees! You know, when we talk about showing love... sometimes it's these little things we do that Shout Love from the " tree tops!"
