Is anyone interested in swapping a recipe card pocket?
It's something I just created for my family history recipe album and thought it may be fun to swap with a farmgirl! They serve as charming little pockets to hold a family photo or memory about the recipe or what ever is special to you.
Instructions:
Create one recipe card pocket, template attached. You would double fold your selected card stock where the paper bends at the bottom of the card so you would only have the two sides to enclose. You would enclose the sides with any medium of your choice and decorate the pocket. Please enclose a favorite recipe, a recipe card, baking stickers, just a little something inside.
I have also attached a few pictures of a couple I created just as an idea.
Sign ups through August 18th.
Mail out by August 25th.

I'm not sure if this is going to work, but attaching... If it doesn't work, feel free to use a recipe card you may already have as a template, and add a little file folder tab at the top somewhere to accommodate a little label.

Hi Marilou, I'm so happy you liked my recipe card pocket and recipes... I too, cherish those old family recipes, to learn how they lived, ate, harvested and prepared foods. To learn about past family traditions and to witness how they change and evolve through the generations. My family recipes and stories are very special to me... I love how a specific recipe or dish can transport you back in time, time shared with that family member or relive a special moment or occasion. One of my favorites, is my grandmothers mac salad, when ever I find myself missing her, I make a big batch. And the moment my family and I sit down to eat, I feel as thought my grandmother is sitting right there with us. I find it so comforting. Sappy, I know! :-) Enjoy!! And, yes, I loved those little mason zip lock bags, too, but I failed to purchase a package for myself, I plan to go back! :-) Have a lovely weekend! (( hugs ))

I just received an amazing package from April! As if the recipe card pocket wasn't enough she included so many little things: tea Chai, gift tags, Mason Zipper Bags (I didn't even know they existed! I will be sure to buy some more, I love them!), some blank recipe card... My favorite is your own family recipe cards. She included 5 recipe that is made in her household, that I will be sure to try -^-^-. For me, this is priceless because it reflects history and traditions. We can follow generations through their dishes and learn about them and their day to day reality.
And, as always, she added her special touch so everything is beautiful.

I received your recipe pocket card today, thank you! Love the cheerful canning and jam theme, as well as the other stickers and goodies. Thank you. I don't so much as keep recipes in the pockets as I do pictures of family or stories surrounding the recipe and family member! Love the goodies it catches in my family recipe books and this will be a cheerful addition to my recipe albums, thank you! My son was with me when I opened this in the car and he ooohhh over the carrot cake jam recipe you sent! We'll be finding time very soon to try this recipe and he was just asking for cooking lessons, so perfect timing! Have a beautiful fall and thank you for joining this swap! Hopefully you'll be receiving mine any day!

Thank you all for the much needs prayers. And yesterday and today we had sunshine. It was beautiful. Oh I had tears in my eyes. Happy Dance!!!!!!

It is horrible.. Some people are parking there cars by Hwy 171. Then take their boats and canoes to get to the road. This is Louisiana so we have low lying areas already so all the water is filling streams and woods fast. It is so soggy. I have been driving my hubs Z71 4wd and I am so glad. My little putter scutter probably wouldn't be good. But we are safe. But it is still pouring down. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Cristy will send your out as soon as I can. We have has flooding from Harvey. Lost electricity, last night at 8pm and come on this morning at 9:30 Am. And everything is so soggy. Almost got truck stuck yesterday. So keep us all in your prayers.

Omgoodness Cristy, I love my Recipe Card Holders. They are so cute, and girl you are so talented. One is Red checkered , red button with green flower and my name sewes on. I love it. and the other it apple material, with red bow.
The recipe for Chicken Tortilla Casserole. With red apple recipe cards. The checkered holdere had recipe cards, made for stickers with snow men( love them)love Christmas season. And a small cute emory board.
