This may seem like a long time to wait on a swap...but my world has gotten busy with DH's surgeries, so just to have something to look forward to I'll go ahead and post it!

What about making from a pair of blue jeans, a summer purse? All you have to do is cut the legs off at the stride and sew a seam, add a handle, and of course lots of decorations and there you have it a cute purse!...think of finding a pair of blingy jeans that young women wear and that would be so cute with added decorations...You could even do a themed purse like bees, retro, vintage, and such. Add a bandana to the waist band to add color, or just a piece of fabric to go along with your theme. The sky is your limit~!~
So for this swap you will need:
1 pair of blue jeans-blingy if you can find them
fabric or bandana
material for a handle
extra bling and decorations for the purse
As always do your best work and have fun doing it
Sign up ends April 10th
Mail out May 25th
When you sign up, list a three of your likes for a themed purse

swap is over,, and yet I am making another jean butt bag,(another b-day gift) ,,it's so all your fault Beth for getting me hooked!
hopefully making more of these bags will keep me from being such a Fashion Trend Setter! lol!

What a cute Jean purse.... and luv the Skin-so-Soft hand creame.
luv the lil red birds and the sequins....
the back side,,,, luv the yoyos....
but,,, wowzers,,, what a great idea,,, RoDonna lined the Jean purse w/another pair of jeans.. what a great idea... and pockets galore!

Thank you Mary and all the sweet farmgirls who have expressed their thoughts for my DH. He had his replacement knee removed Friday and a spacer knee filled with antibiotics inserted along with a port for antibiotics and hopefully that will get rid of the blood infection he has had for 16 months. The spaces knee will stay in for about four months and then another replacement knee will be inserted. The hospital we have to use is 2 1/2 hours away so that makes it a little more challenging. Any hoo, the Lord will get us over this hump and then on to whatever He has us to do!! Smiles......

Hi Grace, I used the leg of the jeans to make the purse longer. The strides are so short nowadays, I thought it might do better to make it a little longer. I cut the leg of the jean and made a strip to sew on each side of the jeans, then I gusseted the bottom on each side.
And the purse I received from Beccalou was adorable. Becca drew a big bee hive with paint on one side of the purse, so cute!! and then flowers were on the other side with appliqued bees buzzing around the flowers!! Then a brass bee is hanging from the belt loop!! The flowers are wonderful pastel ones so pretty!!! My camera is on the blink, so I can't get a photo posted :-( she included so many sweet extras along with my purse!! Thank you so much, Becca I enjoyed being your partner!!

Beccalou... too cute.... luv the colors and... can't quite tell from the photo... but did Beth bring the back side towards the front to make it longer!
Yet another great idea I am going to have to try.

Hey Grace! I meant to send yours sooner but I was stitching by hand. I was scared it would break the sewing machine needle. It's finished so it will be sent tomorrow. Hope you enjoy it. It was fun to make.

This is the one I made for Brenda. She has it now. She's been mega busy with remodeling and so kind to me! Its the very first jean purse I have ever made. It no where near perfect but a lot of love went into creating it. I used my sweet beloved mothers jean shirt and a pair of my old jeans. I made it as if it were for me. I learned quite a few things from my mistakes and look forward to doing a swap like this one again! Thank you for hosting it!

How cute is that!! It is quiet..Kat!! Thinking the same thing!! I was gone this weekend to help with my daughters yardsale. My husband has to have another surgery on his right knee on Friday. They are taking out his replaced knee because of infection and will put in a fake knee that has antibiotic in it. The hospital is 2 1/2 hours away so it is so tiring....but the Lord keeps you going!! This is going to be the thing DH needs!!!

here is the one I made for RoDonna,,,
I added a couple of tuck ins with the purse...
RoDonna is a mom of 4 so I figured she needed a 'girlie girlie' bag...
the skirt already had a lining in it so I didn't have to add one,,, but what I do like about the skirt is that it is longer than a jean pant one... so a girlie can put more stuff in it... lol!
Using a denim skirt was fun... hope she likes it.

Oh and... I needed a quick b-day gift...sew guess what I made.... yep... a jean purse... it turned out quite cute if I do say sew myself! Lol!
