Posted - Dec 22 2016 : 09:41:58 AM I have an amazing pile of awesome cards. Ladies you really outdid yourselves this month!! Imcan see you were really inspired by this swap. Connie- wonderful MJF themed card.. very creative Audra- still enjoying the happy scare crow-- and lovely spiced cider mix. Denise- I love old mills. There was a wonderful old mill in Pigeon Forge, TN.. loved it. I hope the fire didn't damage it. Rebecca- love log cabins! Marilyn -- your card is lovely, and very creative. Love the little Deer. My daughters family had a small rescue Fawn, for a while, until he left to join the deer population in the woods behind their house. MJ- the corrugated pine tree makes for a perfect textured! Nice Linda-- very very nice. Sewing on the stars. Lovely touch. A sweet simplicity. There are likely more. That I can't put my hands on right now.. Ladies, these were all outstanding. Merry Christmas.. and Happy New Year. Mary

Posted - Dec 21 2016 : 10:27:44 AM Your picture reminds me, Connie - Almost every day-after-Thanksgiving we would go to downtown Chicago and see all the wonderful displays in Weibolt's store windows. This was the day they were unveiled for evveryone to see and ooh and aah over.

Posted - Dec 17 2016 : 1:41:10 PM We are descending into the teens as I write this. It was a bit over 70 at noon. We are still at 60, but the wi d is out of the northwest. We will be in the teens by three am. This old farm house will struggle to stay warm. I remember my husband's great aunt and uncle, who only heated two rooms in winter, the kitchen and bedroom. They had two chairs in there so they could read. A lot of old folks lived that way, especially in rural areas. My mother said that when we were born, her mom came to help. Back then up in north Texas, which had been settled in the 1880's, the houses were single wall, (as soldiers came home, Mid 1940s, they needed shelter). no two x fours, no sheet rock. Where ever the knot holes were or cracks left from drying wood, the wind came through. My grandmother would take wet rags and fill the holes and cracks. They would freeze and stop the cold air from coming in.Thankfully we have double walls.

Posted - Dec 12 2016 : 09:44:40 AM Denise, I did receive your pretty Christmas card with the sweet tag inside and thank you for that. Had received your "Holly Jolly" package same day and so over whelmed by all the goodies in it that I later realized I had forgot to mention your card and pretty tag enclosure. You have been one busy gal with all that crafting!
