This swap involves no sewing (that is determined by what you want to make with your fabric squares) - only buying fabric and cutting it into 10" squares. Please do not include any selvages in the 10" squares.

This is a new swap for 10" squares of Valentines Fabrics. Each person who signs up will receive 2 different 10" squares of Valentines fabric from each of the other farm girls who sign up. A yard of fabric will make 12 squares, so the amount of fabric you need to purchase will depend on how many sign up.

Signups begin today: December 3
Signups end: Noon, December 31
Mail out by: January 15

When you sign up by posting in this thread, please immediately also send me your name/address/phone. The name/address is so I can send a complete list to each swapper; the phone number is in case I need to contact you for any reason.

I can't wait to see all the fabrics everyone picks out. And then to see what everyone makes with their squares. I can picture lots of Valentines quilts, table runners, or bed runners. What else do you have in mind?

I will send out the list of names/addresses on January 1.

Happy sewing everyone! I hope you will join us.

Thanks Judith, nothing fancy. I thought kids would enjoy finding all the different kinds of hearts.

I have started a new thread in the Stitching and Crafting Room category where we can showcase any projects made using our 10" squares. Many of us have made quilts, table runners, and other projects using them (Marilyn's Christmas quilts for kids, Beverley's Christmas Quilt, Maryellen's Valentines table runner, Judith's Valentines quilt). This will be our own Virtual Quilt Show. I started it off with my Christmas quilt top. Please join in.

I had enough squares and scraps to piece two small children's quilt tops two pillow borders and a table runner for me. Tomorrow I will go in search of backing fabric for the runner and pillow case fabric. I will use fleece on the quilts and finish up so Hadlee can take them to Cooks when she goes in early March. Love is good year round for sick kids. Besides the fence around their beautiful quiet garden, has XXOOXXOOXXOOXXOOXX all around the top. Hugs and kisses.

Linda, I received your signed blocks today! Thank you so much! They were just perfect. I guess it would have been nice if I had completed making them into blocks before mailing them to you...whoops! My bad! Now, I have no excuse for not finishing this quilt! Yes, I'm still excited!. Yes, I am still working on the alternate rows. Then, I will post a pic of layout.

Denise, I got your squares! Thank you!

Marilyn, I'm embarrassed to say that I found your original envelope buried in a completely different room from where all my squares were. I can send the "replacements" back if you like. I feel so bad. Now I'm paranoid about what else I might find hiding. Please forgive me for misplacing and forgetting!

I'm so happy everyone likes these 10" square swaps. So OK, OK! I will host another one for Easter fabrics. Will have to be fast turnaround, since Easter is March 27. I'll start a new thread now.

UPDATE: Went to doc after tests. Nothing broken or torn. Just very severe bruising and sprain. Will take 6 months to completely heal. Just have to wear supportive shoes.

Linda, I can't say that I "need" anyone to send the blocks. However, I certainly wouldn't turn down a couple more signed blocks! The more people involved...the more special it will be. Thank you!
