Posted - Jun 23 2015 : 11:03:13 AM Sometimes it is difficult to make contact with swap partners, thus delaying the mailing of packages. On the recent swap of 10" squares of Patriotic and Christmas fabrics, Linda(Quiltee), asked for addresses at sign up. Hopefully this will help with this problem when it is time to mail our squares. Perhaps it would be something we could do on other swaps as well. What do you all think?

Posted - Jun 29 2015 : 12:44:03 PM Wow Linda and Alise, you just taught me something I did not know. I did not realize there was such a thing as subscribe to a topic. I have been making and checking lists of the different swaps I have signed up for. THANKS!

Posted - Jun 28 2015 : 12:36:22 PM Marilyn, I took a look at the fabric swap you were talking about and really like that format. Kristine, the April Mail Art Moderator, also did something similar (not exactly the same, but she took charge of addresses, anyways.) Seems easiest to have the Moderator be more in charge like that.
I like Linda's suggestion to remember to Subscribe to the topic, too.
Blessings to you on your life's journey. |

Posted - Jun 26 2015 : 4:56:25 PM Yep, me too! I've had to chase farmgirls and addresses down and it would be nice to have all addresses ahead. Thanks for the suggestion, Marilyn. I had added that to my swap requirements because in my case I needed to compile a list for everyone and wanted to have all addresses up front. LOL!

Posted - Jun 25 2015 : 09:09:36 AM I think that is a great idea, because then the hostess has all the addresses, That was more of what I was thinking too. Works for me.

Posted - Jun 25 2015 : 07:30:59 AM Thanks for your input Linda. Darlene, the reason for my putting the idea here was because I frequently see people requesting a mailing address more than once. It really is simple to click on the name of the hostess, then click the email choice and type in your or my address. We all get very busy and when we are participating in multiple swaps at the same time, wow it can become confusing. I just thought that when we sign up for a swap, we could then send our mailing address to the hostess, if a problem arose at the end, she could come to the rescue.

Posted - Jun 24 2015 : 9:15:02 PM You would not post the info here - but maybe send it to the swap hostess. This is mainly important when there is a list of names to go out to the participants, so the hostess isn't hunting them down at the last minute.
One thing that would help - If people would remember to "Subscribe" to the thread of a swap when they sign up, they would get all notifications regarding that swap, and might not forget they had signed up. Then when info was requested they would also get that notification via email.

Posted - Jun 24 2015 : 8:53:52 PM I would talk to Brian Ogle on that one. Are you wanting people to put their name on the forum like on this page or immediately send their address to you on your email?
