Here's a new swap for you fabric lovers on MJFG. Marilyn (TexasGran) and I were talking about how much we love the fabric "Layer Cakes" but don't like paying the price. There are many patterns and smaller projects that use 10" squares. For this swap you will send 1 Patriotic fabric 10" square and 1 Christmas fabric 10" square to every farmgirl who signs up. Both of these squares of fabric, folded in a piece of paper, will fit in a #10 envelope for one postage stamp.
Most fabric stores currently have a sale on their patriotic fabrics, and most have Christmas fabrics already on the shelves. We have missed this year's Memorial Day and Independence Day, but you will be ready for Christmas and next year's patriotic holidays.
Everyone signing up should send their name/address information to me so I can compile a list to send out to everyone when sign-ups are closed. If I do not receive your name/address info prior to June 27, you will be removed from the swap.
Signups end: June 25
List sent out: June 27
Mailout by: July 6th
NOTE: One yard of 42" WOF fabric yields twelve 10” squares of fabric. You must be exact in your cutting of the fabric. Carefully cut off the selvadge edges of the fabric. Then cut 3 WOF (width of fabric) 10” strips and cut each of those strips into 4 10” squares. Be careful NOT to use the selvage in the blocks.

I love it too. I have enough cut for 16 envelopes, with more fabric if needed. I cut my patriotic squares, and when I get the sewing done, I will photograph and share.

I received my fabric from Sherry yesterday. I love all these fabrics and not a duplicate among them yet. That's great!
