05/20/15: POSTCARD SWAPPERS: just so you know, there are 28 swappers signed up, you will send to 27. The 28th one would be yourself! 
TWO of the swappers live in Canada, you will need to purchase the required postage for sending to Canada.

It's time to signup for our POSTCARD SWAP . This will be our 6th year! Can you believe it! I know many of you have enjoyed this swap. It's easy and simple. So, here's the scoop:
- Send ONE postcard that either represents your STATE or a FAVORITE VACATION SPOT, to EACH person who signs up.
- I will compile a list of names and mailing addresses and email it to you, so......
- SIGN UPS ARE OPEN NOW, will close on MAY 21st. Please post HERE that you want to sign up AND . . .
- EMAIL ME (please do NOT post your info here) with:
-Mailing address
-Your "real" name
-Your forum name
-Current and active EMAIL address
DON'T FORGET I NEED YOUR INFO!!!!
You can purchase postcards at gift shops, restaurants, retail stores, gas stations, visitor centers, etc. You can also take a favorite photo of your own and have them name into wonderful postcards. I have done this using the website, postcards.com. They are very well done, great quality and not expensive.
I suggest that you sign up right away, and then start purchasing stamps for postcards and return address labels. I also suggest you start purchasing your postcards or get an order going for any that you might have made.
MAIL OUT DEADLINE: AUGUST 21st. Yes, you have all summer to get them ready and mailed. But, trust me, you don't want to wait until the last minute.
SPECIAL NOTE: Typically there have been approximately 30-35 farmgirls sign up for this swap. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE carefully consider being able to follow through on this swap. Follow through is very important!

At last I can send out a BIG Thank you to all I received postcards from over the summer. I have spent the better part of the summer on the old family farm helping with things. There is no internet there, and cell phone signal is poor at best. How spoiled I have become to simple technology. I could read post when I went to town but I could not reply. My DH send me care packages with the post cards in it, I now have ever so fond memories of sharing those cards with my dad. Thank you all again so much. I'm late (sorry) in thanking Joey and Danielle for your cards. Florida is one of my favorite places, I lived there twice! Thank you both so much for your happy cards from the Sunshine State! Joey, I will keep you in my prayers, depression is a hard think to fight, I totally get it. Big hugs!

I received Danielle's postcard a few days ago! Thank you Danielle for the picture of the Dora Canal on the Harris Chain of Lakes. Another area to look up on the map of Florida!

HI, recieved the last 2 postcards from Joey and Danelle.
Danelle, glad you enjoyed your visit to Alaska, hope you
saw alot of wildlife. Sometimes on our drives to Seward we see
lots and lots of birds and animals, and other times not so much.

I got Joey's card today! That is so neat that you have a beach that close to go to. I live across the street from a large lake, but the beach is not that easily accessible and about 5 miles away.
I now have received all but one of my cards. Thanks so much, farmgirls.

Joey, your postcard arrived today! DH had to immediately google Dunedin to see where it is located. He has a sister living in Valrico.
I'm glad you are able to go to the beach often! That must help cool you off a little! Hope the hurricane blows right on by you! Hope you continue to feel better.

Dear Sisters,
I am one of the last 2 cards you are all waiting for, and my deepest regrets for being so late that I didn't even mail my cards until after the deadline. All of my cards got mailed out the middle of this week, so you should receive them soon. I am working 12 hour night shifts 4 days a week and feel like all I ever do is work and sleep! I have been dealing with health issues, broken teeth, shortness of breathe and depression. Our A/C unit died in May and I did not have $3000 to have it fixed. We live in Florida and it has been a HOT summer! While all of this is true, I am not offering excuses. I had the same amount of time to address and mail as all of you did and still didn't get it done!! I want you all to know how very much I have appreciated all the postcards you sent me. Many days, it was the bright spot of my day. I love reading about all the places you are and I do SO appreciate your effort. I love this swap and often go thru my postcards from years past and smile again about how spread out we are, and what different lives we have and yet, in the truest sense of the word, we are sisters.
Depression has been an issue for me over the past 2 years and I know working nightshift doesn't help but it is the nursing job I got. I am truely beginning to feel better and as I have more energy, I will join more swaps agai. And get back to my farmgirl friends. Thank you all for your patience. Hugs, Joey
