Cut a sleeve cuff from a worn out denim shirt...yours or your husbands for folks that have a larger wrist....now thefun part!!
You will decorate the cuff with lace down the middle, or down the sides...ribbon in the same manner, and then design a focal point on the cuff using old jewelry parts or beautiful buttons,or ribbon roses, and or fabric flowers. The button on the cuff can be used or you can change it to make it more beautiful. You can google cuff bracelets and get some ideas, but I do hope this description has been helpful. Think thrift stores, Goodwill, that source to find your shirts. Just one cuff per farmgirl. Let's have fun and create a lovely cuff bracelet for the spring..
Sign up ends April 10th Send out April 30th
Have fun!!

Posted - May 06 2015 : 3:19:41 PM Thank you Audrea!!
I received your beautiful bracelet last week and have been sharing it with my friends! Your great box with a bag of Florida trail mix and nut brittle was wonderful. Sorry there is no picture of the food items-- they didn't last long LOL!
The denim cuff bracelet was very artistic and feminine. Perfect!! This is something I will definitely wear often. The bag of shells from Flirida are fun, and I will think of something creative to do with them. Also two small bags of flower seeds: red & yellow milkweed and Passionflower seeds that make small white flowers. I think I know a fence that could use these!
Your swap was positively lovely-- thank you again! Mary

Yesterday I got my denim cuff from Mary in Texas. She also sent a load of lovely tucks in the package. I especially like the Mary Engel Breitling notepad. As my memory bank gets full, I've learned to make lists!

Posted - May 01 2015 : 05:49:16 AM Here is a picture of the cuffs I made for Sara and for myself. And they have dual duty; not only are they to fulfill this swap, they are also to celebrate the 2015 Farmgirl Jubilee that starts today (Mine is the one on the top and Sara's is the one with the red rick rack.) Sara's is not quite so girly girly, because she said she was more country. I left about 3/4" of the shirt on the cuff and pinked it to make it a little different.
I've been wearing the cuff Sara gave me and the one I made and getting lots of comments on them. This has been so much fun.

Posted - Apr 30 2015 : 05:18:59 AM Linda I am so happy you like the cuff. I enjoyed working on it. I re-purposed a Joan Rivers' jewelry bag for your cuff. I think she would have gotten a kick out of that.

Posted - Apr 29 2015 : 03:52:52 AM I think using shirt cuffs is a great idea. I have made some before, and having this part "ready made" is much easier and quicker. THANKS for the idea.

Posted - Apr 26 2015 : 5:22:49 PM I wanted to share the beautiful cuffs I received from Rita. One is so girly and pearly. I wore it all day and my students kept giving me compliments on it. The other is made from a "fly" section of a pair of jeans. There is a section where the zipper opens to store items, like money or a key. I can use it when running or riding my bike. How clever. Thank you for all of the tucks. So many. I'm spoiled. Thank you, Rita!
