Hi girls –

I was thinking how diverse all of our talents are… Some of us sew, some knit, some weave, some tat; some embroider or do crewel work; some do macrame; some are talented artists who draw or paint; others love to work with metal or mixed media; some love to do papercrafting or create fabulous items out of recycled items; some like to work with wood or sculpture or make homemade paper; some make candles or soaps or lotions. These are only some of the wonderful handicrafts we all do, of course, but you get the idea. Wouldn’t it be fun to do a swap featuring our personal gifts and talents?

In this swap, YOU get to choose what you would like to send your partner! It would be something special you create especially for her, only YOU get to choose the medium and the project – it’s all up to YOU! For example, if your talent is making punch needle rugs, you could create a little pillow or wall hanging for your partner. If you knit, you would create a special knit item. If you make potpourri, you could make lovely sachets… It’s completely up to you what you send – you get to “Feature What You Do!”

I’m starting the sign-ups early, so that those of you whose handicrafts require extra time will have plenty of time to get started.

Sign ups will take place through April 1st. Please just let us know what your talent is (i.e. knitting). It will be fun to see what kinds of projects we can look forward to! But don't give away any secrets - the project itself should be a surprise for your partner!

Partners will be assigned April 3rd.

Projects should be mailed out by April 25th.

If you have any questions, please do ask!

Hugs –

Nini

FYI - I can't upload from my home internet connection probably because it's not fast enough. However, when I upload from work, the pictures always come up. Just sharing why I think you couldn't upload! It's frustrating!

Why won't the form let me post the photos??? :( She made me a really beautiful card/photo holder which is decoupaged and hand stamped with a purple butterfly and a stamped card with a quote. She made me a gratitude Bowl which is purple and sparkly and has FAITH stamped in the bottom. She included a WoodWick candle, which smells amazing and sounds like a crackling fire when burning, a burlap stamped bag filled with yummy teas, a miniature soap and a really cute card. Thanks so much!

I'm so glad you like everything Marlee. Everything I made came out of a dishcloth pattern book except for the daisy coasters (but they do look a lot like eggs now that you mention it!) I'm not very good at big projects yet since my stitches tend to loosen up as I go along. Things come out crooked and bigger on one end than the other. So, for now I'm having fun with small projects. Thanks for being a great swap partner. This was a lot of fun.

Here's a picture of what I made for Marlee

Whoohoo! Heather, OMG! You are a crocheter. I love all my wonder goodies!
The two little starshape with yellow centers hot pads makes me think of eggs.
How did you know I like owls. Its hanging on the wall. The ice cream cone is the cutest thing.
The scrubby dish cloth awesome I love those things.
The large pot holder, and the small one I will use as a dish cloth. I love those because when I was growing up my mother would crochet them and we never bought any in the store. My sweet mother kept all the immediate family supplied. That's why I love them so much. It brings back wonderful memories. Thank you Heather so much
and for the tea. Cranberry and Pomegranate my fav. And cutest card.I am a country girl and I so like that card.

BIG Hugs Marlee

Julie, I thought Christmas had arrived early yesterday when I received your box!!!!!!! I love, love, love the beautiful butterfly bag and all the contents:cookbook (already deciding what to make; love to cook, so this was perfect!), tea, chocolate covered sunflower seeds...never had those, spool with hand-stamped (I am assuming) verses ....so clever...love these!, dishcloths (I use this type all the time..only kind I use), apron, beautiful purple infinity scarf with white lace overlay (purple is my favorite color), and a precious lace-decorated clothespin. Boy, I hope I didn't miss anything. You really over-did it! But, I am blessed I was the receiver. Thank you soooo much for everything. I am so glad you liked my things as well.

I just want to be sure everyone has made contact with their partners and that things are going swimmingly? If not, please let me know and I will be glad to try to contact her as well, or I'm happy to work something out with you myself! :)

Rose - I haven't heard back from you. Did you receive my email? I understand if you can't swap as planned - life happens. Please just let me know!

Looking forward to pictures, girls!
