Posted - Dec 10 2014 : 7:22:54 PM Let's get ready for the good spring weather when we can hang clothes outside to dry. I have been thinking about several swaps to host in the spring and I thought a Clothespin Bag Swap would be a great way to start out.
There are lots of ideas and patterns on Pinterest and on the Internet. You can find directions to make a recycled bag, knit or crochet one (yes, I've seen patterns for these, too), or sew one from scratch; that's up to you! Let's try to have all of these hand-made in some way. If you do not sew or need some ideas, please email me. There are several VERY EASY ideas that require very little sewing.
Here are a few pages to look at for examples and patterns (even some crocheted bags): http://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=clothespin%20bag&term_meta%5B%5D=clothespin%7Ctyped&term_meta%5B%5D=bag%7Ctyped http://tipnut.com/11-free-clothespin-bag-patterns/
And here's a link to the Mary Janes Farm Clothespin Apron pattern. The link and picture of the apron was in the newest Feb-Mar 2015 issue of Mary Janes Farm magazine. http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/Recipes-Patterns-Instructions/clothespin_apron.pdf
Tucks can be added, but are not required.

Posted - Jun 02 2015 : 05:55:07 AM Yes, I love making the soap. It is cheaper than buying the name brands that contain who knows what. I also like that I found Zote soap that is already in flakes in boxes at my WalMart.

Posted - Jun 02 2015 : 05:08:47 AM Linda, It really doesn't matter if it is dry or liquid, Homemade laundry soap doesn't make suds. You have to have Sodium lauryl sulfate in your soap to get suds. It doesn't change the cleaning power of the detergent, we have just been told that we need suds by the soap industry. But don't you love making your own?

Posted - May 20 2015 : 11:09:23 AM Marilyn, the homemade laundry soap I use doesn't generate soap suds from what I've seen. Mine has borax, arm and hammer washing powder and Fels Naptha. Works really well in my front loader. I'm not a big fan of my machine though. One of these days I'll probably go back to a top loader. Hope this helps!
Linda! I got a surprise in my mail yesterday. Thank you. I loved it. I can't wait to see what your angel sends. Love you girls!!

Posted - May 16 2015 : 1:09:39 PM Ladies are you using the homemade laundry soap in front loading machines? If so how much do you use, so as not to trigger the too much suds warning.

Did you find the pattern on line? And I also like the clothespins and teal clothesline - how did you know teal was one of my favorite colors?
