Enjoy this swap everyone and thank-you all again for signing up!! Remember to try and have your swap mailed no later than November 12.
Hi Farmgirls, I have been thinking lately how much I appreciate all of you and the opportunity to share in this big MJF Forum! My life has been enriched and touched by so many of you and this community has become very important to me.
So, with November and Thanksgiving coming up, I would like to organize a swap where we just focus on how thankful we are for our swap Farmgirl friend. Let's share with our swap partner a nice note and maybe a few things that the person can enjoy. Teas, a soap, a little crafted something would be nice. I hear all the time how all of you are giving and giving to your family and friends. Thanksgiving is a good time for us to show each other how much we appreciate each other and give thanks for all that we enjoy here at the MJF "Farm".
Let's keep it all simple as we are getting close to the holidays and budgets are tight.
Sign up will be through October 30, partners will post on October 31, and plan to mail out your swap no later than November 12.
What do you say?
I say, sign me up!!

Ladies, just today I received my wonderful box from Michelle that she mailed on Nov. 14! The delay was due to the weather in Buffalo, NY, which about 4 hours from me. I emailed her but will share a few of the things she sent....there were soooooo many! I love socks and she had a great Christmas pair in the box, plus numerous stickers and buttons (I love them all!), homemade cookies that were still good after their long ride, several pretty ornaments, 2 nativity figurines, notepad, material, and a gorgeous candy dish...just to name a few! Thanks agagin, Michelle, for the great box. It was worth the wait!!!
Hugs, Portia

Posted - Nov 21 2014 : 09:12:24 AM Theresa, I am so glad you liked everything. I had fun getting the package all together. Sorry I was a little late. I always use battery operated candles. They are so much safer. I have lots of the candles glowing when I have company. I don' have to worry if children knocks one over. Thanks Winnie for hosting this swap. It was a winner. Hugs,

Patsy, Your package arrived last night. Well, actually, yesterday afternoon, but I didn't get home until last night. I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything. The candle ring is lovely. You did such a nice job on it. And the candle goes well with everything in my home. I've never owed a battery powered candle. Am looking forward to using it for Thanksgiving. The cookie cutters are AWESOME... how did you know I've been searching for cookie cutters!!! I can really use the bobbin holder. Very nice. It will certainly come in handy. Again, it is like you have known me forever. All I use is homemade soap. I haven't made any myself for years but always buy homemade everywhere I go! Thank You Thank You. I love the magnet too! I use them everywhere. It is already on the inside of the back door where DH and I leave notes when we are passing ships in the night! I still can't get over that the material I used for your bowl cozies had the flour sacks on it from the plant right down the road from you. It is so neat to see the plant. Thank you for going out of your way to take a photo for me.
This has been such a fun swap! I am truly thankful for all my farmgirl sisters!

WOWWIEEEEEEEEEE! (I doubt that is spelled right? if it is even a word?) I received my Thankful for Farmgirl Friend Swap box from Julie and I almost couldn't get everything in the picture! I love, love love everything - 3 pkgs of hot chocolate, Hazelnut Coffee, homemade vanilla, Buffalo Berry Syrup, two rolls of decorative tape, a bag of old white buttons (did you rip them off all your husband's shirts?), an embroidered tea towel, a crocheted "acorn" dishcloth, Burt's Bees Eye Cream and Lip Shimmer, some Lindt Lindor chocolates, a Recipes for Thanks cookbook, a small bag of smoothed glass chips, a needlepiont turkey refrigerator magnet, and a very handsome Tom Turkey, complete with pilgrim hat (wonder who he stole that from?), and a Pumpkin Vanilla Cream scent pumpkin for the car or house. WOW! I am speechless - thank you, thank you, thank you, Julie!I'm afraid I can't thank you enough! Perfect for my tastes and interests. Everything adds so much to my Thanksgiving decorations! Oh, and a beautiful card with an antique Thanksgiving picture on the front.

Posted - Nov 17 2014 : 1:31:40 PM Theresa, I mailed your package today. You should receive it by Wednesday. I forgot to tell you in my letter how much I appreciate all my farm girl sisters. I worked for thirty-one years in an elementary school with lots of lady friends. When I retired to the ranch there was not much female companionship except mama cows. I love the interaction and female chatter on this site. Hugs,

Posted - Nov 15 2014 : 08:27:55 AM Patsy, So glad you like everything. I really enjoyed making them. I too love to wear aprons. Wear them all the time. Would never think of using anything but hand knit dishcloths. They are so easy to take with you and you always have something to work on. When they get to nasty looking for the kitchen, my DH uses them in the garage.

Posted - Nov 15 2014 : 06:22:30 AM Oh my Theresa, What lovely gifts you sent to me. I love them all.
These are to put under bowls that go into the microwave. When the food is heated, you can take the bowls out and the holders keep your hands from getting burned.
A coaster, meal planner booklet, more coasters and the little pantaloons become two washcloths when the ribbons are removed.
Therese, I love aprons. Wear them each time I cook. You really did a beautiful job on this. So cold here today. Decided to make seafood gumbo tonight.
Thanks again and lots of hugs to you.
