For this swap you will create a homemade ornament with the theme of cupcakes! How about that!! I have an idea that I want to try out! You can paint, crochet, sew, any medium you choose, just so it is homemade.

Can you believe it is already October?? I cannot!!

Brenda -

I GOT MAIL TODAY! I received a box wrapped in Christmas paper in the mail, and inside was another very nice Christmas box; and inside that box was a beautiful Cupcake Ornament, a heart pincushion made from a piece of old quilt with a yoyo on top, and 4 chocolates. And, you might ask, why did I not eat the chocolates before this picture was taken? My mailman put the box in my mailbox, it is 90 degrees outside today (definitely NOT fall weather), I was out shopping, and the chocolates are squishy. They are now in the freezer solidifying so that I can eat them, hopefully without making a gooey mess. There is also a cute card. Thanks for everything, Brenda!

Here is a picture

:) Thank you Portia!!!! I am hoping to post pictures of the delightful cupcakes you sent me, here really really soon (if I could just get my computer to cooperate!)

The other ornament is literally a styrofoam ornament hot-glued into the cupcake liner. It is then covered with DecoArt Snow-Tex. I then took a piece off of a berry sprig (the fake floral mistletoe type stuff) to be the cherry and stuck it in while it was still wet. My 3 yo thought it was a real cupcake and tried swiping some of the "icing." What a mess to get out of his mouth!!!!

With all that said, thank you for your sweet comments Portia! I LOVED making them!!!!

Shannon, you are so talented! I love the 2 cupcake ornaments. You do such beautiful applique. I am blessed to have several of your pieces and these just add more beauty to my collection. The one that is not appliqued is so unique. Ladies, it is in a real cupcake liner and is as light as a weather. I am not sure how Shannon made it. The "cake" part looks like a snowball. Care to share your secret, Shannon?

Hugs,
Portia

Linda, I got your wonderful package. Thank You!! How creative of you. The large cupcake will make a wonder pincushion for Holiday time. Especially since I sit in the living room a lot and do hand work. Love the box and card. They will also be set out for the Holidays. Thanks again and Farm Girl Hugs, Brenda
