I thot about the other day hosting a tote bag swap...Well, then I thought about the way we used to make purses out of blue jeans.....so I thought well why not host a blue jean skirt tote bag swap!!! ******************************************************************* Sorry to be late...visiting my grandbabies, got out here and got a touch of pneumonia...NOT fun oh well....some better.... here are our partners for the swap...Have fune!!! I will purchase one from a thrift store, cause if I used one of my own, it would look like a large thrash can tote...hehehe...So I will find one that is smaller than what i wear. Then you will decorate the top of the skirt as you would like, ribbons, flowers, felt, or bandanas after you sew up the bottom to make a tote. you will need to put a handle or two on the tote. You do not have to line the tote unless you would like to. Just have fun. This will be a good long time to complete this swap so Sign up ends April 2nd and Send out day will be April 28th. Make your skirt tote, the size of a tote, not huge but big enough, You girls will know!! Come on in and join, you farmgirl sewers... Have fun and happy crafting!! brightmeadow	Posted - May 06 2013 : 8:03:32 PM Kammi, Thank you SO MUCH for the lovely tote bag that arrived today. It is so beautiful! The lining is a nice, soothing green/blue batik print and the patchwork and pocket placement is not only artistic but also very utilitarian as the straps will keep the pockets from opening unexpectedly. The farm girl kerchief tied on the strap will also come in useful, I remember 100 ways to tie it from a Girl Scout camping trip back in the 70's. It's very nice, and I also enjoyed the notecards and tea bag. I hope you have received yours also? I sent it on the last day of April by regular first class mail, I have tracking info if needed. I've been having problems posting pictures lately, will try to take some time this weekend to figure out what's wrong and photograph all my April swaps. But I wanted you to know that it did arrive, and that I am very glad you did not allow your sister-in-law to take it! I took the tote you made for me to my parent's house to show off. Everyone thought it was very nice and amazed at how creative you are. I also took my laptop and decided to carry it in my new tote. But, alas, my laptop was too wide to fit in longway and I did not want the my laptop sticking out of the tote. I stepped back, looked at my situation and.......undid the snap, unzipped the zipper....in went my laptop and I zipped it back up.
