How about a Ladies' Vintage Photo Swap?
I think this would be a good way to participate in the 'The America Goes Red Challenge' to become more aware of women's heart disease. This challenge runs from Jan. 7, to March 28. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women. My doctor told me that women's bodies are very adapt at hiding this disease. So we need to become aware of the symptoms and take care of our bodies. You know, eat and exercise better.
Now for the fun stuff. Sign up to get a partner. For each partner send two different pictures of a vintage photo of a lady. It must be a copy of a real photo. No clip art or magazine pictures. Pictures should be black and white and before 1950. It can be a picture belonging to you, a family member or friend, or one that you purchased somewhere. Secure the picture on a red colored (remember the Challenge) 4x6 backing. On the back, give the lady's first name, dates of birth and death if you know it, and one sentence about the lady. If you got the picture somewhere else, give that info also.
I will try to do two partners for each one that wants two. Any suggestions to above? This is my first time to do a swap. So excited that it goes well. Sign ups close March 10. Mails outs due by March 20.

So glad Stephanie, You and Killarney are joining in the fun.
MamaBulla, so sad you are not going to participate. I know just what you are talking about of mostly male photos.
I have lots of male photos. Several of my friends do too. I guess it shows who are taking the most
Photos. We as Farmgirls need to take that in consideration and make sure we have our own, and female friends
and kin pictures taken.

I went through most of my photos last weekend and realized that most of my pics are of men! Lots of cool ones of my grandpa and uncles... Being unable to find many pics to share, I'm going to respectfully back out of this swap. Sorry! I look forward to seeing some of your cool photos as this swap gets underway, though. Have fun! :-)

that's ok--that's how ya learn!!!!
i've been sitting at work all week thinking that i need to get my pics printed or sorted and mounted- and i have thought of others i hadn't remembered i had pictures of!
hoping more will sign up! that's all it means- is to bring it back to the forefront of the older threads--

I had a friend ask me is she could embellish her card. Sure. This is everyone's swap. Just try to make the card 4x6 red background, and the rest is up to you.
