Hi there Farmgirl Sisters,
It's a new year and many of us what to start fresh projects, start journaling, save momentos from the past year, etc. Some of us also want to learn how to make something new and fresh.
Sooooo, let's share in a swap that helps us get going on just that.
Goals are:
- to share something of our creative selves with a partner (or more if you want and can follow through). I'd like to encourage the idea of letting your partner "surprise" you with what they do. If you do have some very significant dislikes or likes please feel free to communicate those.
- learn something new if you don't know how already. There are lots and lots of You Tube videos with lots of ideas on "how to".
HANDMADE JOURNAL or SMASH BOOK SWAP
Here's the scoop;
- YES, HANDMADE by YOU OR, minimally , a purchased journal/smash book that you will personally embellish (strongly so) the cover and dress up the pages a bit with stickers or bits and pieces of scrapbook paper. You'll need to check with your partner about favorite themes OR see if they are okay with the "surprise me" concept.
- MINIMUM SIZE: at least 5 inches by 7 inches. May be larger but no smaller (it's not a mini-book swap)
- MINIMUM CONTENT: at least 25 "pages". Typically a journal will just have pages to journal on. A smash book could have other items incorporated in, such as big envelopes, pocket pages or such.
- THEME: you will need to communicate with your partner(s) for any favorite themes they have OR see if they are okay with "surprise me".
SIGNUP HERE BY FEBRUARY 1st. If you want more than one partner you will need to tell me that, otherwise it will be for just one partner. Timely follow through is essential, please! Thanks!
MAIL OUT BY FEBRUARY 20th. This gives you plenty of time to get some things started as we want everyone to mail out by the deadline.

Debbie,
I have to tell you that, this afternoon, our son Jeremy was looking at the beautiful smash book you made me and just admiring it SOOOOO much!
He is 39 years old, with Down Syndrome and just appreciates a lot of beautiful things. He went through the book, slowly and carefully turning all the pages, looking and enjoying, we talked about the tags and little goodies tucked here and there! It was such joy to watch him!

Iam thrilled that you love your homemade smash book! I had so much fun making it for you. The first "Birdie" charm had the little tiny hanging ring broke off. I was so thankful I was able to order another one. Sweetie, this is why it took so long to get the book to you. I contacted Beth J. and Maddie to get their opinion, all agreed that the charm needed to be attached when you opened it. I was afraid you might start thinking you would never receive it. Bless the mail delivery for finally coming through.
I know you said you like the color purple and teal blues, I wish I could have found a better shade of teal, but all in all it worked out okay. I loved making the coloring pages and the MaryJane Magazine cover for you. You are a true "Apronista." I hope the long wait was worth it. You are very dear to me, and I wanted it to be special for you.
Have fun with it! Maybe you could donn another red nightie and cowboy boots with your gun at your side. Have hubby take a picture and tuck it in your folder marked "Blackmail Photos" LOL!
Love ya girl. Thank you for all the nice compliments. I love looking at all the journals and smash books, we have a lot of super talented sisters. Aren't we just the luckiest group of ladies that ever was?

Well, girls, this is the smash book that Debbie ("buzzn bee") made for me and I am SPEECHLESS!!!
As you can see she spared no effort, creativity, time or her love in putting this together for me. There are all kinds of pockets with all kinds of tags in them, the pages . . .and everything are wonderfully decorated with ribbon, jewels, lace, tags, clips . . you name it. There are little tags and envelopes tucked everywhere . . AMAZING!! AWESOME!!!
As you can she see also put together an "apronista" page for me with my photo. And, yes, Debbie I found the "BLACK MAIL PHOTOS" folders and envelope. Nope, didn't take a pic of that because it's SECRET!!!

She attached some tiny envelopes to the spiral in a few places but also had tucked in other envelopes into pockets and there are flower printed pieces of blank paper inside those little envelopes for little notes!

Okay, so as if that wasn't enough Debbie ALSO sends me a readymade smash book with a lot of goodies to use in and/or with it.

The packages were delivered into my hands today . . . YAY!
All I can say is I AM SPEECHLESS!!!! You have made me the most WONDERFUL, CREATIVE, ABSOLUTELY STUNNINGLY GORGEOUS SMASH BOOK ever!
Actually, I'm in tears . . . you have blessed me and WWAAAAAAAYYYYYYY OUTDONE yourself.
I will post pics, trust me! You went more than the extra mile to make something in colors I love, in a theme that I adore and made it sooooooo beautiful, personal and . . well, WOW!! WOW!! WOW!!!

USPS Track & Confirm says that both packages departed the Denver location yesterday, Feb. 28th. There was not a TIME noted, but they left there yesterday.

I am waiting for a couple of packages to come from back East and on the tracking it says delays because of the weather in the mid west. One of them was sent Feb.18.

Oh Poody Doo!
I was really hoping you would have it today. Your smash book is in the box and the envelope has your No paper ATC and a little something to go with your smash books. It upsets me, when the Post Office will tell you the exact day to expect delivery and then it doesn't happen.
I know you believe me that I sent it, but I just wanted you to see for yourself the delivery date. Hope you can see it in the pics.
Guess I shall go comfort myself in some delicious chocolate that Maddie sent me. Amazing how chocolate can calm even we women who are very post menopausal. LOL!
So sorry that it did not arrive today.
