Hello Farmgirls!

It is that time of the month again to exchange farmgirl names and send someone something wonderfully creative in the mail!

Our theme for October is Farm Animals and Pets. Most of us farmgirls have an animal or two that we love and we thought October would be a great time to celebrate our furry (or maybe not so furry) friends! Of course the theme is optional so you please make whatever inspires you! (Please be aware that some folks do not celebrate Halloween, so if you are planning to use that theme check your email and I will indicate if your partner prefers not to get Halloween mail art, thanks!)

Please send your mail art out by October 15th, be sure to post on the October forum when you receive yours, and please post pictures if at all possible! That part is important to inspire other artists!

Lastly, I have been organizing this for almost a year and it has been a ball! I have really enjoyed getting to know many of you and I appreciate that I have been able to be share in some sad, some happy, and some challenging times in your lives. It has been a wonderful gift to me so thank you for sharing. That being said, I think it is time to find a new volunteer for 2013! Is there a farmgirl out there willing to host this exchange for the 2013? It isn't a hard job but it does require consistency once a month, so if you are interested please email me at mommybelly@yahoo.com. I will send you my organizing system or your can make your own, but rest assured I will walk you through it. It isn't too much work and it is a lot of fun!

That is it for this round! Have a wonderful October, everyone!!!!

I haven't heard any reply from my mail art partner this month, so I don't know if she got my mail art or not. This is what I sent: a tiny teddy that sleeps in a matchbox. I gave him a knitted blanket to keep him cozy and a snack - a single Honey Nut Cheerio - for his journey.

Hi Marti (Oct mail art) and Mary Jane (Sept mail art).... I returned from Kansas & 2 great mail arts were waiting for me. Ladies, they are wonderful & thank you so much. Knowing it was waiting for me made it not so hard to leave family. Thank you again

Hi Linda aka hummingbird,
Your mail art arrived today & it's so beautiful!
The pic doesn't do them justice!
I like the messages on both. The carousel horses would be outstanding to see & what a history. The peacock card is really special with all the blues.
Our daughter is visiting from England I thinks mail art is great & has claimed your cards to take back!
Thanks so much for being such a great swap partner!
Hope all is well with you!
Hugs Judy

Look at My Wonderful Mail Art sent from Jan Shook. She went
outside The Box and did a really cute little wooden piece of
luggage with travel stickers all over it. Then inside was a M.E.'s
Estelle Ann Paper Doll with many cute outfits. My Granddaughter
is going to love playing with her! I even played with her today...
I l.o.v.e. paper dolls! Then she sent me some great Mail Art
Supplies. Thank You Jan!!! You out-did yourself! It was a fun pkg
to get...just wished the postage hadn't cost you so much!!!

Hope you are re-cooping from your Move!

Love and Hugs,
peggy

Philena - I just got back from spending 10 days with sons in KY and your card was waiting. Your dogs are beautiful and appear to have mastered the art of relaxation. I admire your "greyhound rescuing" - those are lucky dogs. Thanks - your mailart gave me a smile.

Hi Linda! I received your Mail Art on Monday.. and I LOVED it!! I really enjoyed reading about your pets, and then seeing the enclosed pictures of them all! I was just reading your post about your M squad... what a cute idea! In my family, everyone got to name a chick. So of course some of the names don't roll off the tongue as fast as it should-- for a while we all referred to them as "Dad's Chicken", or that one is "Jack's Chicken"! Thank Goodness I got all different breeds so it's easier to tell them apart!
It's so funny that although I've wanted a chicken flock for a while.. I never thought that I would LOVE them... But I DO!
Have fun with your Grandkids on Halloween!!

Teresa Julian I received your card yesterday and it was very cute. It was nice of you to send a little information about yourself. I really enjoying hearing how everyone is doing. I really had a good time when m chicks were little but they have grown so big. They have not laid any eggs yet but I am ah hopeful. They are called my "M Squad" because I named them all with m names so I could remember them. Sometimes it is hard to tell them apart. The front of your card was really cute. I shall try and post a picture. Thank you again.
Linda
