Dear Farmgirl Mail Artists,

I am so glad that everyone is having so much fun sending each other mail art. It has been fun to organize and all of you are so helpful in keeping it going! Thank you so much to each of you for your patience and enthusiasm and I hope you will have just as much fun in September.

For our September Mail Art Exchange, we will be using the theme of thrifty fun / shabby chic. The idea is to reuse items around you to make your mail art. I think as farmgirls, reusing is a big part of our business, be it meatloaf leftovers, an extra gallon of paint, seeds from last year, or the garden table you plucked from your neighbor's trash (score!). It would be neat to reflect that industrious spirit in our mail art. The theme is optional of course; please make whatever tickles your fancy!

I will send you your partner's name by the end of the month. Please contact me if you would like to participate and did not get a partner by the end of the month, or if you would like to join up, here is a link for that : http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=55062

Please have your mail art in the mail by SEPTEMBER 15th!

Please let me know that you got this email so I know you are still participating. If I don't hear from you I will assume you are not.

Please let me know immediately if you can not participate so your partner can be reassigned quickly.

That is it for this month's round! Have a wonderful September everyone--

I make sure I get it there even if it's alittle or alot late.
Hugs to you all.

Hi Melissa! aka mastergardenermd

I really received a sweet treat in the mail! Melissa made the cutest heart covered with pressed flowers & a fern leaf. The butterfly puts the final touch on it! Inside the box was little cloth packages of rose petals, lavender & jasmine bath salt! Each bag is decorated so cute! I just ran out of my note pad in my purse so yours arrived perfectly!

Ladies, I MUST say that Melissa went out of her way making sure I received her box of treats because her PO kept sending it back to her! But the second mail out worked & I'm sooooo glad! Now that's keeping up with a swap!!!!

Melissa & I have been emailing & let me tell you she's a real sweetheart!
Super huge hug for ALL your work & mailing time!!!!!!!

Here's the creation....

Gracey received your beautiful card and cute pumpkin today. I am glad you received my mail art, I was beginning to panic that it was lost in the mail. My post office is such a small back country po those things can happen.

lol...love those pictures Jessie and the final one stating she
always wore her crown on "picture day"....very cute!

Rachael, thank you so much for the two custom made bookmarks
you sent for my mail art this month. I love them! I am an avid
reader and will use your bookmarks often. You made them so special
and pretty with the fancy beads and decorations. Just want you to
know how much I appreciate them. The Fall one with the neat words
on ribbon is going to be a favorite of mine. You made my day,
thanks!

So excited to get the most original mailart ever!! Thank you Jessie for the quaint box with the altered-art and crackled paint styles. You helped my imagination go into gear as I started thinking of different ways to create mail art. Wish I could show it. Maybe after I move this week and there's finally time to learn how to post photos. Again, so many thanks! Jan

Glad you liked what I sent Rachael, it was recycled including the
beads for the stick pin. Had fun putting it all together. I
understand about the mailing thing as I've had the same thing happen
to me when I've given a letter or something to my son or hubby to
drop in the mailbox for me. Not to worry and I'll let you know
when your mail art does arrive.

Judy,
Thank you so much for your understanding.

it's just that it can be so frusturating when it happens more than once.
My poor Gerry was waiting for a package from a company for his work and told PO them not to leave it it no one was home and they did right on the front steps. So of course it was stolen. Than he had to fill out a ton of forms just to get them to pay insurance.
Oh well such is the day in the life of snail maail LOL.
Should be there very soon I hope.
Hugs,
Melissa

Hope your rnjoying the fall colors.

OOOOOOOH Melissa!!
Don't worry & don't feel bad, things like this happen!!
I had a parcel sit for 3 weeks in a PO that wasn't delivered to the person & she went for the mail every day! Go figure!
I REALLY do understand & THANK YOU for trying sooo hard! My goodness!
It's that much more exciting to look forward to! I'll let you know when it arrives!
Whatever the surprise is it's coming from a true FG friend!
Have a great weekend!
Judy

Hello Judy of Canada,
Was wondering if you had received my package yet when to my suprise it
was returned to me stamped unable to deliver as addressed.

Checked with postman and he said he saw no reason why it was returned because everything seemed to be addressed ok.

Not the first time I have gotten mail back for no reason. UGH took my sister 2 weeks to get her box which takes only 2 days normaly.
Very small county PO, which seems to makes many mistakes.

I am remailing it tomorrow from a different PO so hopefully you will receive it early next week.
Please accept my many appoligies for your package being late.
I will for sure use a different PO from now on for packages.

Again so very sorry,
Melissa Tons of Hugs

PS I have received so many lovely comments about your Mail Art to me.
I just love it.

Finally I can post this picture of the lovely art work sent to me by partner Linda. Thank you so much! My art is going to seem very puny in comparison! But I hope you know it was meant with as much care and love as your mailart aptly displays~! Thanks again! Rachael

I sent a package to Jessica (NY) the last day of August - at the same time I sent a package to my son. He reported that his was delivered in a plastic bag and was covered in a jam like substance. So I hope mine was delivered. I have not received anything. My postmaster (in a town of 800) refuses to put anything in my box if it doesn't have my box number although I have had a box now for 11 years.
We are getting rain today- yeah!

Hi Lorie,

I'm so glad you enjoyed the mail art, I don't know if you caught my note on the packaging, I recycled an old envelope that I received from another farmgirl. I'm glad pieces of it will find another use with you. I love to find new uses for old things.
