So glad you signed up for the Christmas ornament swap! It’s my first swap hosting and so I’d like to make sure everything goes well for everyone involved. Please read through the whole of this message. I hope I have covered the important points. If you have experience with a swap, and have any advice to add, please do.

SWAP RULES
Ornaments:
Should be HOMEMADE. They may be embellished, painted, etc, or made from scratch.
Should be BALL-SHAPED. This is the theme, so use your creativity!
Mailing:
MAIL 6 HANDMADE ORNAMENTS to me, postmarked by September 22nd. My address (has been emailed privately to those signed up).
PLEASE PAY RETURN POSTAGE for your ornaments. You can ship a flat rate box and include a check/MO within for the appropriate amount. Or you could preprint your postage using the USPS website, and include it within.
ORDER CONFIRMATION OR TRACKING is optional, but I cannot be responsible for lost packages.
PACK APPROPRIATELY. If your ornaments are fragile, please do your best to ensure that six ornaments arrive intact, even if this means include one or two extra. Packing peanuts usually work quite well at cushioning glass ornaments, as long as they are not packed over-tightly.
ONCE I'VE RECEIVED each swapper’s package, I will mail the swaps back to you.
Communication:
IF FOR ANY REASON YOU ARE UNABLE TO FULFILL YOUR SWAP, do me the courtesy of informing me. This is common courtesy. It only takes a moment to send a note or post, and is really the least to be expected.
MESSAGE ME, either via email or forum, when you have posted your package.
I WILL MESSAGE YOU the day that I ship your packages back, so that you may know when to expect them.
PLEASE BE PROMPT sending your package. If I do not receive it in a timely manner (and have received no message to expect it), you may miss out entirely. This is your responsibility.

Oh my, I have not been on the forum in so long. My apologies ladies. I received my ornaments and they are awesome! Looking forward to hanging them on my kitchen tree with all my little farmgirl ornaments from the past.

I received by package with in the hospital last Saturday. What a wonderful surprise I received when I opened it up. Ladies, we have some very talented people in our mist. Can't wait to place them on my tree this year.

Oh happy day! I got my box today. I love all the ornaments and can't wait to post pictures but I will wait until everyone gets their box. Mine is the little ones with the ribbon.

I do not have objections to posting pictures, but if those who haven't received theirs yet don't want to spoil the surprise, you should warn them somehow that photos are forthcoming. :)
I actually ended up doing two sets, the crochet ones, and the paper-filled snowmen. We had one girl drop out, and rather than send everyone back one of their own, I thought I would just swap for two sets.

I got my package and oh, boy! Such talented farmgirl sisters! I am in awe. I did not think about labeling the ones I did - they are the ones with swirled paint. I hope they are okay. I feel so inadequate. I didn't care if I got the extras back, but thanks you. We are not doing a whole lot of decorating for Christmas because we will be leaving on December 15 to spend Christmas with our daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren in Stuttgart, Germany (they've recently been moved from Heidelberg) but I will be hanging up a few things and these gorgeous ornaments will have a place of honor. Thanks so much, ladies.

Hello to al. I was so excited to receive my package of ornaments today. They were all lovely and I cannot wait to hang them this season. Such neat and fun ideas. I would love to know who made each one though so I could remember each lovely and creative person when I look at them. If it would be possible to know? If not I will cherish them anyway from my farm girl friends.. I wasn't sure whether or not you wanted us to post pictures. I didn't want to spoil anyone's surprise and I wasnt sure if each person s ornament were the sameor different so do let us know Leslie if you would like us to post pictures and if you want us to do so soon or wait a bit. Thank you for hosting this swap it was a treat. Blessings to you all and your families.

I received Kay's and Denise's packages this morning. All ornaments intact!
I have sorted and packed up everyone's boxes to be shipped out tomorrow (or Monday at the latest). Did my best to keep the glass ones safe for you all, and to make sure no one receives their own back. If you do get one of your own, you could email me a photo of the ones you got, and I can try to figure out which one you missed. But I'm pretty sure we all got the right ones. :)
Kay, I assume the extras in your box were for "insurance" against broken ones. I will go ahead and send them back with your swap.
So keep your eyes on the mail! Here they come! :D

Received a question from one of the girls here about how to calculate postage. Thought I'd post here for everyone's info.
Q: How do I know how much postage to include? How much is a flat rate box?
A: I believe they are all different prices, depending on the size. If you have a small one that all the ornaments will fit in, it will be a different price than the larger ones. You can find the dimensions here: https://www.usps.com/ship/priority-mail-flat.htm and the prices for them here: http://postcalc.usps.com/.
If you don’t use a priority mail flat rate box, you could preprint your postage labels at home here: https://cns.usps.com/go. You will need to create an account, and pay with a credit card. You should be able to print both the postage to send your package, as well as a return postage label by editing the ship-to and ship-from addresses (although I have never done this, but you should at least be able to calculate the price).
