Judy and Mary,

My first suggestion is to be patient - maybe you'll hear. Sometimes you don't. That has happened to me. Unfortunately, all who sign up for these swaps are not as dedicated as the rest of to making the swap successful for everyone. There are some options available, but let's wait a few days before we take any action on this.

Big Farmgirl hugs and Happy Holiday wishes to you both.

Jonnie

I have emailed my swap partner about sending my apron to her and have mailed it and I have not heard a reply yet. I only emailed her on Monday but I do not know if she even got the email let alone the apron. Is there anyone that would have a suggestion?

God bless,

Judy

Hi, Mary. I checked and it looks like Shayna was having email/subscription problems with her account. I sent her an email. Please post or send me an email if you don't hear from her in a few days. My partner withdrew and although it's very close to Christmas and there is NO WAY that I can make an apron before then, maybe we can swap Valentine's aprons or something. I have the supplies to make a Christmas apron if you still want one...

Thank you Jonnie, I found my original response that I sent on last wednesday... so I don't know what happened to it.Its showing that it sent.
Then Not being able to respond on Friday when she followed up because I wasn't near a computor until last night made it look like my integrity was shabby. But Im good for this swap, In fact, I was excited to get to send a apron from California all the way to Maine. Waiting to hear from Shayna that it's all good now. Noting intentional... Love these swaps! Ive been enjoying all my Farmgirl Interactions.

Good morning, Ladies. Hope all the confusion has been straightened out. Just for future reference, I've sometimes had to wait for 10 or more days to hear from a swap partner...you know, vacations, computer problems, harvest time, birth of grandchildren - there are many things that can cause a delay in response.

If you have not yet heard from you swap partner and want assistance, please let me know.

Happy Sunday to you all,
Jonnie

The History of 'APRONS'

I don't think our kids
know what an apron is.
The principal use of Grandma's apron was to protect the dress underneath because she only had a few. It was also because it was easier to wash aprons than dresses and aprons used less material. But along with that, it served as a potholder for removing
hot pans from the oven.
It was wonderful for drying children's tears, and on occasion was even used for cleaning out dirty ears.

From the chicken coop, the apron was used for carrying eggs, fussy chicks, and sometimes half-hatched eggs to be finished in the warming oven.
When company came, those aprons were ideal hiding places for shy kids..
And when the weather was cold Grandma wrapped it around her arms.
Those big old aprons wiped many a perspiring brow,
bent over the hot wood stove.
Chips and kindling wood were brought into the kitchen in that apron.
From the garden, it carried all sorts of vegetables.
After the peas had been shelled, it carried out the hulls.
In the fall, the apron was used to bring in apples that had fallen from the trees.
When unexpected company drove up the road, it was surprising how much furniture that old apron could dust in a matter of seconds.
When dinner was ready, Grandma walked out onto the porch, waved her apron, and the men folk knew it was time to come in from the fields to dinner.
It will be a long time before someone invents something that will replace that 'old-time apron' that served so many purposes.

Send this to those who would know (and love) the story about Grandma's aprons.
Remember....
Grandma used to set her hot baked apple pies on the window sill to cool. Her granddaughters set theirs on the window sill to thaw.
They would go crazy now trying to figure out how many germs were on that apron.

I don't think I ever caught anything from from Grandma's apron - but love...

So embarrased, emailed a response the first day, was out of town at my daughters friday and got home tonite saturday and read my emails... Don't know why my emails did not reach you Shayna. My daughter lives out in the STICKS... and has no computor at her house. So was out of touch for two whole days. Bought your apron material and was planning on starting sewing sunday.

I'm sure I will love anything you send. Let me know your address and I'll send you mine. Email me at tammyecummings58@yahoo.com. Looking forward to a fun swap with both my partners!!

Hi Tammy ;)

I honestly just love the surprise element of it all!! I feel bad that Mary couldn't participate and more so didn't return anyone's email but I know life happens and I just hope she is okay. More so, I am grateful for my farmgirls and know there is always someone willing to pick up the 3rd wheel ;)

Let me know what type of Apron you would like and I will get right to it ;) also if there is any type of print you prefer as well.
