Posted - Jul 19 2011 : 08:41:02 AM HOUSES DUE ON OR BEFORE 9/18......................................Just thot about this swap....We will limit the number of girls to 20 as we do in the ATC swaps.. THE HOUSES ARE FLAT!! This swap you will make Halloween houses and decorate them for the Halloween season...You can make them about 4 inches by 4 inches and include a roof. the roof is not included in the 4x4" measurement. Mine are about 6 inches tall and 4 inches wide..Up to 7 inches tall (roof and body of house)should be fine..Any larger and it will be a lot more costly.. Please use cereal boxes or something of the same weight, card board, etc for the back of the house..Then use paper, like scrapbooking paper to create a Halloween house. Decorate them as much as you would like, but let's keep the gluing part neat...Make 20 houses and send them to me. I will attached them to hemp rope and you will receive in return a Halloween House banner to put in your home for the season. Let's make this a friendly Halloween village...nothing gory or anthing of that nature.
Remember to make them at least 4" x 4" and include a roof. Send them to me at the time and include 7 stamps to mail them back to you...Let's have fun and happy crafting.
Please put your name and info on the backs of the houses***Signup ends August 25th and send to me by September 18th.... They will be sent back to you by the first of October! Smiles...Beth ********************************************************************************************************************************************The names are for the houses I have received so far ******************************************************************************************************************************************** Maddie Semple Beth Winnie Sissy Patty (Gathered Herb) Michelle Patricia R. Posted - Sep 28 2011 : 2:59:56 PM Hey Connie :) I am just like you, I sat & did 20 different houses :) I drew mine though. I am just getting the hang of using mixed media in my work, I usually draw. I also take advantage of the paint cards from Lowes. Home Depot & Walmart's are GREAT Too ;) Debbie, I think we all start out alittle plain, until we get the hang of it. Your house I received is just fine by me ;) I loved everyone's work, I smile every time I look at them :)

Posted - Sep 28 2011 : 09:52:31 AM I have done 4 of Beth's ATC swaps and This halloween House Swap and just saw that you can send 20 of the same thing! I put so much time and thought into each one, But I would be bored outta my Halloween Skull doing 20 of the same thing! That is what makes it fun to me, going in a totally differnet direction for each one. Well, if I get pressed for time ,nice to know I can do that, I know only one goes to each person, so it really doesn't matter.

Posted - Sep 28 2011 : 09:39:24 AM Debbie, My first ATC Swap (Artist Trading Cards) were kinda plain. I learned to make them more 3D byusing foam mounting tape. You can get at Wal-Mart or craft stores. Iuse a lot of magazine pics and glitter and decopage glue.I did a lot of decopage in the 1970's and I love it. I personally dont like stickers or too many store bought embellishments. I adore all the ones I get. Art is in the eye of the beholder! I am looking forward to doing better each time too! I like to take magazine pics and add to them, and recycle at the same time! Also on my halloween House Roofs, I used paint sample cards from Lowes and Wal-mart and they are Free!

Posted - Sep 28 2011 : 09:13:02 AM I received my package 2 days ago. Thank you everyone. This was my first swap ever. I wasn't exactly sure how to make my houses so they were a little plain. My next one (christmas), will be more festive. Thank you Beth for putting it all together.
