Posted - May 13 2011 : 06:02:37 AM Here we go girls, our fourth of July ATC swap!! A few things I have noticed in receiving the lovely cards are listed below: 1. Make sure your cards are dry before you wrap them up to send. 2. Make sure the embellishments you apply to your cards are glued on well, not globby glue, but enough to keep the embellishment on. 3. Place your name, MJF#, date, name of ATC, and the number of the card ( 1 of 20, 2 of 20 )on the back of each ATC. The girls want to know who made the lovely cards.
THERE ARE 15 GIRLS SIGNED UP FOR THIS SWAP...PLEASE SEND 15 CARDS TO MY ADDRESS....EMAIL ME IF YOU NEED MY ADDRESS. HAVE FUN!!!!!!!
Sign-up for this swap ends JUNE 1st==========Mail out June 12th
Cut off for the number of cards will be 20....so, 20 girls can sign up!! This is a good workable number for everyone...
Have a great time and fun!!

Posted - Jun 22 2011 : 8:21:15 PM Catherine - I really appreciate that you've shared this with me. I actually sent out four other packages on that day, and although they all have "delivery confirmations," I haven't heard from the recipients to confirm... I don't understand why this happens. I only had a problem with Fedex before - they will hire out local contractors to make deliveries for them sometimes. One time, I had confirmation that something had been delivered to my house, but it never arrived. When I called, they said it was probably just that the contractor had marked it delivered before they were able to actually deliver - trying to meet an internal deadline or something like that. Sure 'nuff a couple of days later it was on my doorstep!!! I didn't think that happened with USPS, though... Guess now that it's privatized we can expect more of this? Eghads!
Well, girls, I really am sorry for the delay!

Posted - Jun 22 2011 : 10:05:58 AM Nini, don't beat yourself up over it. Delivery confirmation is sort of a crock - there is no similarity nationally on how it operates. They are supposed to scan it at the address at the time of delivery, but many post office masters use other systems. I found this out the hard way when a package of mine went awol a few years back. The sender was adamant that she KNEW I received it because she has delivery confirmation and would not even communicate with me further. Turns out, it had spent three months behind a conveyor belt at the local post office. It ended up in my locked postal box after those three months and when I talked to the post office regarding the whole thing, they weren't even apologetic. Said, it happens. No comment on the fact that they had been rude to me re the whole delivery confirmation thing and all acted like I was trying to get something for nothing. Ridiculous. They did admit that to save time, they sometimes do the scanning at the post office. Well, mine was lost after scanning but before even leaving the post office. I have seen several similar incidents since, but luckily all were rectified sooner. My dad spent hours one time trying to track a Christmas gift package to his grandkids that the post office claimed was sitting for weeks in Montana somewhere.....only to find that his bratty son forgot to let him know it had gotten there within a week of being sent. Grandkids were lucky they were young and not culpable LOL. Lesson here is, delivery confirmation is not what they claim!
I still pay occasionally for delivery confirmation because they seem to treat those packages a little better, but you really have no idea what post offices adhere to correct procedures and which do not. Sad, really. If it is truly important stuff, I don't mail usps. But again, different folks with different regions office managers will have different preferences on the alternative shippers as well. When I lived in Ann Arbor I adored ups but hated fedex; in Chicago it was reversed. All due to how the local managers run their shops.

Mine are going out this afternoon. I had glued some buttons to mine, and they are not holding. So I am sewing them on. I will e-mail you this evening or first thing tomorrow with a confirmation tracking number.
I can't wait to see what everyone has made.
