Posted - May 02 2011 : 08:11:39 AM 09/09/11: well the fun for this swap is ended for this year. Check back at the beginning of May 2012 for next year's swap. (see my post at the end of the thread) Thanks again! CJ Update: 08/22/11: POSTCARD SWAPPERS . . . Monday, August 15th (a week ago) was the MAIL OUT DEADLINE!!! If you're running late on getting your postcards out please either post here or send me an email. Thanks! CJ
POSTCARD SWAPPERS . . . sounds like you all are having great fun with this. Thanks to all of you who have sent me your wonderful postcards.
May 25, 2011: This swap is now CLOSED!!! Mailing lists will be emailed to all swappers in the next day or so. Be on the lookout for your list. TOTAL SWAPPERS = 48 Don't forget mail out deadline is AUGUST 15th Have fun! CJ
Hi there Farmgirls,
Back by popular demand is the POSTCARD SWAP. We had one last year and the idea was to send ONE postcard from your state to everyone who signed up.
Here is a pic of my collection from last year! Cool, huh??
We will do it again, with a few tweaks to the process from last year. So, you can read about it here:
- SIGNUPS: open now, May 2nd. (only ONE signup opportunity) CLOSING: May 25th
PLEASE: you must be able to commit to this and follow through!!! You will need to PURCHASE STAMPS and POSTCARDS (you can make them as long as they show something from your STATE or favorite VACATION SPOT).
- EMAIL ME: (Please, do NOT post here!) ~ Your MAILING ADDRESS and YOUR NAME (your 'real' name) ~ Your EMAIL ADDRESS ~ Your FORUM NAME-
HOW IT WORKS: ~ to EACH person on the list you will send ONE postcard that is either: - from YOUR STATE . . . OR . . . - from your FAVORITE VACATION SPOT
- You basically have most of the summer to mail your postcards out with the DEADLINE FOR MAILING OUT AS: AUGUST 15th- Once signups are closed I will EMAIL you the list and then you can write 'em and send 'em.[/purple]
START NOW: - buy your stamps for POSTCARDS - buy or make your POSTCARDS (showing your STATE or favorite VACATION SPOT) - affix your RETURN ADDRESS - be ready!!!
Thanks . . . should be fun! You'll make more farmgirl friends! CJ
NOTE: If you are in MAIL ART or RAOK, I have your info already

Posted - Sep 12 2011 : 10:50:51 AM Good idea . . . be on the lookout for postcards between now and next summer! That way you won't have to buy them all at once. And, if you take a photograph that you really like for your state or favorite vacation spot . . . you can go to postcards.com and have them made.
So . . . go for it! CJ

Posted - Sep 09 2011 : 7:09:45 PM Dear Postcard Swappers: in the final analysis it looks like everyone should have received 44 postcards from other participating swappers.
It appears that R.A. from Indiana and F.C. from Texas went "missing in action" . . . as I believe no one rceived postcards from them.
And Cheryl in Oklahoma was very ill and several of us told her to take care of her . . and not worry about the postcards.
Sooooo that how it looks from this mountain in Colorado. Thanks for the fun! CJ

Posted - Sep 02 2011 : 6:43:08 PM I've gotten 44 cards including my own. I have enjoyed each and every one of them more than once. Thank you so much to everyone that sent me a little piece of their world. I did not receive cards from the same girls that others have mentioned. I will say that Fairlee is a friend of mine and she hasn't responded to my e-mails so I'm hoping she is OK. CJ, thank you so much for hosting this swap. I think it must take alot of organization and energy to stay on top of this swap. You did such a great job. Joey
