Round Robin Swap Box

(for farm sisters in the U.S.)

Nearly everyone I know is busy – getting seedlings started, spring cleaning, preparing their gardens, busy with new babies – chicks, kids, calves, kittens, etc. Spring is one of the busiest and best times on the farm!

With all that is going on, I don’t have time to ebay or garage sale; however, as I am going through the house (slowly) cleaning, I have STUFF! I have new stuff, old stuff, antique stuff – from books and dvds to all kinds of odds and ends!

So here’s the plan – I am going to fill one of the set price boxes from the post office, probably the one that to mail cost a little over $10. I plan on stuffing that rascal full! Then I will mail it to the first person who is interested and signs up!

They in turn will be able to select as many items from the box as they desire. They only have to make sure the box is full once more, when they send it on to the next person on the list! The last person to sign up, will then mail the box back to me.

Rules for the RR Swap

1. Items selected to send should still have “life” left in them. (I have trash, too, but I will be sending it to the burn barrel.)

2. When mailing, you will need to pay the extra $.70 (approximately) for a confirmation number. Then email the number the number to me.

3. Once the box is received, please send it on to the next person within a week.

4. Breakable items should be packaged appropriately.

5. When you send the box to the next “Sister” try to make sure there is a variety of items for her to choose from.

I will be sending the Round Robin Swap Box from here on April 29th!

If you are interested, just sign up. You will need to email your name, address, your screen name and your email addy to me. Then start collecting the items you plan on sending to the next farm gal.

Sign Ups will end ~ Monday, April 25th.

This is going to be fun ~ Kind of like going to a garage sale without spending the money for gas!

I think Cheryl has got caught up in "life". I've been trying to catch up a little today, reading posts and reading blogs, and noticed Cheryl has been posting regularly to her blog. So I'm thinking that means she's ok, just busy.

Well I'm going to have to run off soon and pick up dd from band camp. Then I can come back and get caught up some more.

Have I missed something? Has anyone heard from Cheryl? Has this been canceled? I've left notes here on the forum and I've e-mailed her twice and haven't heard anything. I know she missed another swap too. I don't really care about the swaps at this point but I AM worried about Cheryl. I know she was sick and they have had crappy weather too but has anyone heard from her and we know she's OK? I'm saying prayers and hoping she is fine and just behind, but I'm a little worried. Joey

Also wondering..has the box gone to the first person on the list yet? What do we do now? (Sure hope you are feeling better by now, Shi-anne) I'm not rushing you. I know you have been dealing with TERRIBLE storms and this is a minor thing. Just trying to stay on top of things and offer support. Do you need me to start the box and just send on to the 2nd person on the list and put your name in my slot? What can I/we do to help? Please be safe out there. My heart is with you. Prayers and hugs, Joey

Just wondering if there's an update on this swap? I know you've been sick Cheryl and had terrible weather...I hope everyone is on the mend and feeling better now.

Not yet, Joey. My week and a half of being sick or tending to sick kids through me behind. But I'll get out soon. Promise.

If you sent me your info and I haven't added you to the list, please give me a couple of days to get caught up. We've been busy dodging tornadoes and dealing with the stomach flu bug!!! I don't think I want to repeat April again. ;)
