HI GIRLS!!!

ARE YOU READY????? :)

Partners are listed below! YAY!

1) Please contact your partner via email to exchange contact information.
It was recently brought to my attention that it might be better for partners to introduce themselves to each other via email and exchange contact information prior to the swap. This will help ensure that everyone is on the same page and still able to participate.

2) Please confirm when you and your partner have contacted each other.

3) If you are unable to reach your partner for any reason, please contact me and I will take over and swap with you - okay? This way, nobody will be left out! :) <I do have everyone's contact information here on file, though, just in case anyone misplaces their partner's address.>

4) Spring Cleaning Packages should be mailed to your swap partner by Monday, April 25th. If for any reason you experience a delay or are unable to participate as you had hoped, please just let your partner and I know. I will gladly step in for you! I understand that things can happen - I just want to be sure that nobody is left out in the cold, okay? :) I don't bite - don't worry! :)

5) Please be sure to post here when you receive your package from your swap partner!!! Pictures would be REALLY great, too! Half the fun of this swap is seeing all the surprises we share with each other!!! I can't wait to hear all about the fun we're all having!!! :)

Happy Spring Cleaning, My Friends!!! This is going to be SO much fun!!! 'Looking forward to everyone's posts!

Hugs -

Nini

--------------------

It's time for spring cleaning, girls!

Ohhhhh, c'mon - don't gasp like that!

Let's make it fun this year instead with a Spring Cleaning Swap!

Here's what you do:

Go through your closets and drawers in every room of the house. I'm sure you'll find lots of nice, new things that you've either purchased or have received as gifts that you've just never used, but they're way too good to throw away. We're talking things like purses, wallets, scarves, hats, gloves, books and cookbooks, stationery, candles, tools, gadgets, beauty products, jewelry, craft items - pretty or practical - you get the idea! Anything goes, just be sure that these are nice, new items. There's no set price limit with this swap because you're doing spring cleaning - these are just really great items that you just know you're never going to use, so it's time they go!

Choose three different items from your clean sweep for your swap sister. No theme here - just three really nice, new items that you think another farmgirl sister would enjoy. Remember you want to make your swap sister smile! Just let your farmgirl heart be your guide! :)

When you pack up your swap sister's box, include a note with a little history about the items your sending - explain what you were thinking when you purchased each item or who gave it to you and on what occasion, why you never got around to using it, and why you think you're swap sister might really enjoy it, even though you can't! :) I think our stories behind each item will be very interesting - they might just end up being treasures in themselves!

To sign-up, please be sure to email me with your name, your screenname, your address and your email address.

You may select to send to more than one partner if you like - just let me know! :)

Sign-ups will end Sunday, April 10th.

I will email everyone with your swap partner information by Wednesday April 13th.

Spring Cleaning Packages should be mailed to your swap sister by Monday, April 25th.

Let's have fun and start Spring Cleaning!

Hugs -

Nini

P. S.: CANADIAN FARMGIRLS: I would be happy to organize a special, separate swap list especially for all our Canadian sisters! If you are a Canadian farmgirl who is interested in participating, please email me and hopefully we'll have other interested Canadian farmgirls to partner with you! :)

I got my box from Erica yesterday and oh WOW!! It was certainly worth waiting for. Thank you so much. The purse will go to my DD who just got a promotion and now needs to act/dress like a grown-up. I love the beautiful, pratical receipe box and the Gooseberry farm book. I have several of their books but they are in storage, so I really love this one. The blue earrings are so pretty and scrapbook stickers-yep, I'll use those. I especially like the little table cover from N.D.-hope to get there some day. LOVED the print scarf. My daughter will want that too but it's mine. You sent so much more that I can't even remember. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, your generousity is so appreciated. What a fabulous swap. THank you. Big hugs, Joey

Hi Cheryl~
I just wanted to let you know that my swap treasures arrived today and I love everything. First the butterfly is so cute, blue is my favorite color so it will hang from my window in my stitching room, I love pearls and wear them with jeans even, my husband loves them on me and these are so pretty, the note cards well I actually have that print framed and hanging in my stitching room as I collect ship and I especially like this picture so they are perfect and I keep a journal and have for 30 years so I am always looking for another. So thanks so much I appreciate it all, I know we did not have to post pictures but I wanted all the farm girls to see my treasures.
Have a beautiful Mother's Day.

Deb, I got your box this weekend--Thank you for all the great items! I intended to take a nice picture of it, but before I could, my kiddos had already raided it--journal for my daughter, socks for my other daughter, my mom was visiting and grabbed the book (she'll give it back when she's done with it), my son clained the paint brushes, and I think I managed to keep the other things :) A great apron pattern (oh yeah, my daughter already has plans for that too!) and a nice bookmark (managed to get that out of the book before my mom took it!), a magnetic notepad for the fridge (I needed that!!) and a snowflake kit, and a great packet of sunflower seeds!!

Thank you for a great fun swap!!

Staci and I sent out our packages to each other! Staci's came to me last week, but I've been working so many hours recently I have not had time to post a thank you!
The two tote bags are great! Matching too! I can always use more of those! Love the magnetic note pad with pen too, I also use those a lot! And the note cards I happened to use right away! Thanks for the book! I haven't read that one by Karen Kingsbury yet, and I will be passing it on to my daughters to read when I'm done!
I will definitely use the Creating Keepsakes magazine, I already see some projects I would like to try...the funny thing about the Spirit of Christmas book is that I have one of the series, and have just loved it, so was excited to get another!
Wow, they do say "one mans trash is another mans treasure" and I sure hit the jackpot!!! :) Thank you Staci!

Whodathunk I, of all people, would get excited about a little spring cleaning?! LOL! Thanks SO much girls, for joining me in this swap - SUCH fun!!!

Now, the story is that I sent my box to Nini right after partners were posted . . dust bunnies and all! She wanted to "sit" on it until I received mine so we could open "together". Well, the box she sent me arrived today . . . in the hands of the grouchiest mail carrier on the fact of the plant, I might add!!! HEAVY!!!

Well, I knew I was supposed to let Nini know I got it so we could open them "together". I didn't wait . . I did email her, but I didn't wait. So, there is a package of Easter chocolate bars . . nope, I have been tempted yet. Then there was a "tower of notes" with a LOVELY, LOVELY pen, all tied up with green/white striped ribbon. I LOVE IT when I get a package with ribbon . . . cuz I use the ribbon on my journals and such. Oh yeah, I LOVE the notes and pen as well. Then a box that was the dickens to get into that held the ABSOLUTELY MOST ADORABLE, spring time Yankee Candle tart warmer. Design has a little picket fence, lawn chair, flower pots, flowers . . . complete with some scented tarts and tea lights. And, then there was this HUGE "Maxx" purse. All shiny and new . . . hmmmmmm!! I've seen these kinds of purses and I wonder how anyone can carry them for very long. I told Nini, I don't really carry a very big purse, but this is such as nice accessory item I will HAVE to find something wonderful to use it for.

Soooooooooooooooooooo, I was tickled all shades of pink with her "WOWIE!!! ZOWIE!!!" package!!! You certainly made my day, Nini!!!!

P.S. Like I said, our mail carrier is the GROUCHIEST!!!!! Monday, I was outside sweeping our deck when he came, but apparently he didn't see that I was outside. And I heard him shouting all kinds of cuss words out there as he was sitting at our box. I was using a push broom with a metal handle and accidently clinked it against some other metal object and he must have heard that. Then he says, in a lower tone of voice "well, now just calm down a little bit". Then he drove off!
The next day I wrapped up four homemade chocolate cookies with ribbon and a note that said "Have a great day" and put them in the box for him. I decided to put it that way instead of a "better day". He wrote a note back that said "Thank you". I just don't get what makes him soooooooooooo miserable and difficult to deal with. He's been our mail carrier for over 20 years, is only in his early 50s but he has ALWAYS been this way. Poor guy!!

Anyway . . . 'nuff of that story!!
THANKS NINI! You are one true, blue, sweetheart of a FARMGIRL!!!

Now that said, why can't we do this swap every month or so, I do not know about you ladies but I have lots more "treasures" I would love to pass on to other farm girls. What do you think Nini and ladies? Just a thought.

Oh my GOSH, CJ!!! I'm so glad your box arrived today! My son was driving me nuts with anticipation, waiting for me to open yours! LOL! Where do I begin!!!??? I am just SO excited about this box of goodies you sent! You couldn’t have chosen better gifts!!! THANK YOU!!! The corn knobs and trays - OH MY WORD! I have wanted these FOREVER, but they were something I just haven’t been able to justify splurging for whenever I’ve seen them (and they are a rare find around here!!!). They made me get a little misty, because I know my Grandpa must’ve been watching from up in Heaven with a big grin on his face! While he was alive, not a cob of corn ever passed our plates without the knobs protecting our little fingers from their heat and drips of salty butter being caught to roll the corn cob over and over and over again - we’d suck every bit of juice and butter dry from each kernel and cob-hole!!! LOL! What WONDERFUL memories - thank you for bringing them back to life for me!!! I’m so excited to have them - I can’t WAIT for the first corn to come out this summer!!! The can cozies are fantastic - now my hands won‘t ache anymore while enjoying icy cold cans of pop! How COOL (no pun intended!)! The matching red and white towel and oven mitts set are PERFECT - I was in desperate need of both, believe me, and they will look great in my kitchen as well as on the deck this summer!!! THANK YOU!! I also LOVE the “meal magnet pad” - my son and I giggled when we saw it - now he won’t have to ask “Mom, what’s for dinner?” anymore!! It's just so cool - love it!! And you won’t believe this, but I really, REALLY needed a coupon box - mine was stolen right out of my shopping cart a few years back, chock-full of coupons, dollars-off certificates, pocket change and rebate forms. I actually refused to buy another, I was so disheartened! I had fashioned a “new” one by cutting and folding a manilla folder from the file cabinet, but it fell apart a few months ago and I never bothered again! BOY, this one is so colorfully fun - it’s making me long for the Sunday newspaper to arrive!!! ;) We opened the box of fruit gummies right away and snacked on them while editing his research paper - yum! Believe me when I say, it was a much needed treat to help us get through THAT arduous process this afternoon! Every single one was savored in a matter of 15 minutes! LOL!! You ROCK!!!

You hold such a special place in my heart, CJ, and now I have all these lovely things surrounding me as a constant reminder of our friendship - what a wonderful thing! I just can’t thank you enough for all your thoughtfulness. Your package made my whole day - and I assure you, every single thing will go to extremely good use! I’m so excited! THANK YOU!!!

Hey... I just realized... where are the dust bunnies? They must've escaped on Easter! LOL! ;)

Debbie, aka "Blessed_In_Colorado" ~ Hey girl, I rec'd your box today!! What neat stuff you cleaned out of your house! LOL You know my grandchickies are going to fight over the doggie neck warmer, for sure! The book on storage looks interesting. Can't wait to have time to sit down and look through it. I'm kind of like you about the pink neck scarf, but I know someone who will enjoy it. ;)

We have been down with the stomach flu....between that and dodging tornadoes, it has been an interesting week. One I do not wish to repeat.

Your pkg. will be in the mail in the morning. Tomorrow, I have to run errands, so the post office is on the list!

Thank you for everything!

Maddie,

I received your wonderful package last night, thank you so much! It was fun to open everything and I liked the post-it notes that explained each item. The brooch is super sparkly and fun and a great addition to my collection, as is the bowl/casserole pyrex piece. The tote bags and toiletry/travel bags can always come in handy. The teapot candle is super cute and the book looks fun, I will definitely be reading it. I can always use lotion and yes, I do like VB! Thanks again for everything!
