Posted - May 27 2011 : 4:50:05 PM Linda you have mine correct. I did make the star in the star block. I have to agree that the postal system is hard to figure at times. Glad to hear that all blocks have made it back home, Barbara

Posted - May 26 2011 : 7:22:28 PM Thanks ladies, I got my blocks in the mail today and was so excited when I opened the package. Even though I had seen the blocks on-line, they are so beautiful in person. Thanks to everyone for sharing your square with me. And Darlene thanks for all your hard work getting this swap together and making sure we all got beautiful blocks. Ready to put these together and see it finished.

Posted - May 26 2011 : 7:04:53 PM Thanks, Kathy - what do they say? borrowing an idea is the best compliment? LOL! The extra blocks help to make the quilt, after adding border(s), a nice twin size.
And, yes, Darlene - thanks for hosting this swap. I have an idea for a birthday block swap (the block looks like a present) that makes a wall hanging, but need to work it out - AND have a bit more time to host.
I leave for Ireland on June 28th, so need to be getting ready soon. LOL!

Posted - May 26 2011 : 5:46:05 PM Darlene, I am just glad mine got to you in one piece and yours got back to me in on piece. I give up on trying to figure out the Postal system. Anyway, thank you for hosting this swap. Everyones blocks are great. And Linda, I think I am going to steal you filler/connector block idea. What a great way to finish your top. It realy does tie it all together.

Posted - May 26 2011 : 12:50:49 PM Yea, I got my blocks today and they are all beautiful. I want to do a red, white and blue quilt for my stepson who is in the Marines for his b-day. All these different blocks gave me an idea of using some of the designs from this block swap for his quilt. I got to go to Hancocks this weekend to get my fabric so I can get started on it. I can't wait for him to see it. I know he'll love it cause he's very Patriotic.

Posted - May 26 2011 : 06:20:21 AM Kathy, you are the closest to me and got the blocks later than the other girls. This postal service is crazy. I didn't even post what they did this time. At least the blocks arrived. One postman says one thing and another says another. I think they make up their own rules/rates!

Posted - May 25 2011 : 07:06:55 AM Thanks, all, for your comments. I knew I wanted a quilt larger than just the 12 squares, and thought a simple connector block would work. I alternated the direction of the connector block to randomize it more. A 9-patch connector block would work just as well, too.

Posted - May 24 2011 : 06:55:38 AM Here is how I have put the blocks together. I THINK I have all the blocks assigned to their makers correctly. They are from top to bottom left to right (not counting the connecting blocks I made): Toni, East Freedom, PA Linda, Lone Oak & Richardson, TX Diana, Orofino, ID Jill, Devil’s Lake, ND Susan, Robertsdale, AL Darlene, Kunkletown, PA Sherry, Longview, TX Shirley, Beulaville, NC Kathy, PA Beverley, Atlanta, MI Barbara, Macon, GA Linda, Fargo, ND
Is this correct?
What do you think?

Posted - May 23 2011 : 7:22:19 PM I got my blocks today - all are very nice. But three blocks were not marked with the name of the person who mad them. There was a name on a piece of paper near one of them, but not attached. WHO made them? In Dinah's picture above they are the Top Row Middle, Second Row Middle, and first in Third Row. Please let me know who made them. Thanks!
Two I got are different that the ones Dinah got.

Posted - May 23 2011 : 5:58:16 PM Found mine in the mail today!! Thank you everyone. I love each one. I keep looking at them over and over again. I need to play with them and see what I can come up with..... If anyone puts theirs together please post a picture. I love to see how different the quilts turn out. I will not be able to truly play with my blocks for two weeks - life is keeping me busy...but I promise to post a picture on this thread when I get mine pieced together. Happy sewing everyone, Barbara
