Posted - Dec 03 2010 : 3:14:52 PM I would so love to do this swap with you ladies next year.
Each lady decorates 25 matchboxes (for the 25 days of Christmas). Included inside each of the matchboxes is a little trinket or creation you have made. You send them all to the swap host and she will in turn send you 25 different ones. You then open one a day until Christmas.
This is not an expensive swap, as the only out put we had was $3 (10 for $1) for the matchboxes we purchased at the dollar store. I used wrapping paper from my stash, embelishments from my stash, and the snowmen were beads we had.
How fun would this be?
Here is a pizza tin we got from the Dollar Store and decorated to hold all 25 matchboxes.
Here are the we have opened so far:
Day #1
Day #2 (which happens to be the one Ashley and I created)
Day #3
What do you think? Would you be interested in this next year?
Have a good day!

Thank you! Most have hanging loops, a couple do not. I hot glued magnets to the backs so they would stick to the pizza pan. Yes, all need to have a number on them for the 25 days of Christmas.
Happy Holiday to you and yours also!
Have a good day!

Posted - Dec 17 2010 : 3:17:06 PM Hello ladies! Love the interest in this. If you have a second to click in my blog address, you will see all that we have opened to date. I post each day to share and thank those we have received from. Oh penny wise, you have the right idea of looking at thrift store for little treasures. That is what we will be doing this coming year for ours. Some ladies made goodies out of puzzle pieces, dominos, game pieces, etc. There were 75 ladies in this swap, so there are matchboxes we did not receive. It had to be a huge undertaking to sort them out. I can't wait. I will post something in August to sign up for and they will be due at the beginning of Novemer. I can't wait!
Have a good day!

Love! Love! Love! The Christmas Matchbox Swap for next year.
Can next year be next week? LOL!!!!!!!!! They are so cute. I have the most precious pen-pal in Colorado, and I know she would enjoy a set of these. I may have to make up a set for Valentines Day.
You my Farmgirl Sister Friend, are like all of the other remarkable ladies I have met on the MaryJanes Farm Sites. You have a very creative mind and a very soft heart. Always you seem to be thinking of ways to put a smile on the faces and a song in the hearts of all the farmgirl sisters.
Sister Hugs to you friend.

P.s. I've been playing around with the spelling of my name ( weird I know) and I've decided that I will stick with Hannah for good. Sorry I got you all confused. Hugs!! |
